The Gamecock Classic tournament was an incredible showcase of division 1 volleyball featuring @clemsonvb @gocamelsvb @etsuvolleyball. Thank you to @gamecockvb for hosting us! A great environment and an incredible fan base to play in front of.

When the backrow setter takes the first ball, let your middle take the 2nd contact in front of the ten foot line. The angle and the tempo of the ball coming from middle front and off of hands really helps your pin hitters score more often! And eventually the middle can start to take option swings as well 👀

I learned this from @coachbrianvb at Creighton University.

Win the serve receive, get the setter in system, and put the ball away. First ball kills take pressure off your team and put it right back on the opponent to sideout.

Three different situations, three different approaches. In serve receive, stay aggressive and look to score off a good first contact. On a free ball, use the extra time to create your best possible offensive matchup. Then in transition, get off the net quickly, communicate, and be ready to attack whatever opportunity the defense gives you.

Have a coach enter a ball to a libero or setter. Whoever doesn’t dig sets a line of outsides. Put 4 middles on some boxes and let your outsides go to work. Make sure your middles press palms and with good hands (thumbs up) so they don’t jam or break any fingers.
