There’s been a lot of conversation lately about banners hanging at EYBL, and whether the game has become too focused on individual success. People talk about selfish basketball, how the game is changing, and how team basketball isn’t what it used to be in this new generation.

But this picture is a reminder of why so many of us fell in love with the game in the first place.

As a player, basketball gave me friendships that have lasted a lifetime—people I’d sprint across the floor to help up every single time without thinking twice. Those relationships have always meant more than any stat line or trophy.

Now, as a coach, that’s what I hope to pass on to the young women I have the privilege of coaching. Yes, I want them to compete, improve, and chase big goals. But more than anything, I want them to experience the lifelong bonds this game can create.

Because when the final buzzer sounds, no one remembers every point you scored. They remember who you were as a teammate. They remember who picked them up when they hit the floor.

No matter how many points you score, you always run over and help your teammate up. That’s basketball. And that’s the part of this game I’ll never stop believing in. @hoopcodegirlsbb by @coachobryan22

As I step away from this program, it’s hard to put into words what these past three years have meant to me.

First and foremost, I want to thank our administration for believing in me and trusting me to lead this program. Your support, guidance, and commitment to our student-athletes made everything we accomplished possible. A very special thank you to Stacy White—your leadership, encouragement, and steady presence meant more than you probably know. I’m incredibly grateful for the impact you’ve had on me and on this program.

To my coaching staff—thank you for your loyalty, your long hours, and your passion. You gave so much of yourselves to our players and to me. The relationships we built and the work we put in together will always stay with me.

To the parents—thank you for trusting us with your daughters. That trust is never taken lightly. Your support, whether it was rides to practice, cheering in the stands, or simply being there through the highs and lows, played a huge role in building what we had.

To our fans and boosters—thank you for showing up, for believing in us, and for creating an environment that our players could be proud of. Your energy made our home feel special, and your support never went unnoticed.

And most importantly, to the players—thank you. Thank you for your commitment, your resilience, and your belief in what we were building. You gave everything you had, every day. You represented this program, your school, and yourselves with pride. More than wins or losses, it’s the growth I’ve seen in you—as teammates, as leaders, and as young women—that I will carry with me forever.

This program will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m proud of what we built together, and even more proud of the people who made it what it is.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey.
