Sad news for everyone 🥺: I’m not able to coach this year/season. I was offered a job, but the head coach left last minute without contacting me, leaving me without a position. I tried looking for other teams nearby as an assistant coach before the season started but there was none that fitted what I was looking for in short amount of time. So now I have no choice but to put my coaching on hiatus. It’s possible I might come back next year, but I’m not sure. Had I been coaching this season, it’d be my five year anniversary (I started in February 23, 2021). Here’s my story throughout my years, each photo representing a season (not seen: Spring 2025):

(1) My first coaching position, I was an assistant coach for Oakland Lacrosse Club, U12. I was 23 years old, and my goal was to get out of the house and do something that can get me paid on the side. I was working toward a teaching credential. But since I was told to put it on hold in the spring, I had much more time, and wished I had more days to coach. Once the season ended, I realized I would have to come back to earning my credential. So I decided to look for coaching jobs for high school girls while coaching off season. OLC didn’t have any high school positions, so I had to search on my own. I create this account to journal my journey and help others.
(2) 24 years old, Spring 2022, I was the JV head coach for Aragon High School. I was working toward my last semester earning my teaching credential. However, while earning credential, I had to drive far to practice, which put a toll on my body. That along with the culture of San Mateo county made the job less enjoyable. So I resigned since it wasn’t the best position.
(3) Spring 2023, I was 25, and coaching at Dublin High School as a varsity assistant coach. Prior to joining the coaching staff, and after the 2022 season I wasn’t able to complete my teaching credential since I wasn’t able to gain the classroom management experience I needed to get it completed. So I left the teaching industry. I tried a contract job, but that job didn’t last. So I gave education one more chance, but as a teaching aide at Dublin High School. More info cont’d in pinned comment. by @coachonuva

So happy I got to see Henry play a game in the Bay Area! Didn’t think I’d get to see him until two years later from last year’s game against Cal! Great job out there! Hope to see you again 🥹💚🦆🥍 taken in Santa Clara University by @coachonuva

2025 recap: What a bittersweet season and year. Even though it was due to personal circumstances, I had to leave the first boys team I ever coached. It was a difficult decision. I am grateful for the accomplishments of my boys, having my face-off stick I purchased out to use, and seeing one of the first ever boys I coached play in college. Hopefully, the 2026 year and season, I’ll finally have recovered, and will at least get to see the remaining boys I’ve coached, but as a coach for an opposing team, and be involved in more lax related opportunities. But regardless, the CV boys will always be my first boys. Stay tuned for the update on where I’ll coach in the spring. Happy New Years and peace out 2025 🎉🥳🎊🥍🦅🦆✌🏽 by @coachonuva

Word of advice, if you’re a guy, don’t suggest I go back to coaching girls lacrosse (unless it’s for any of my nieces and/or a daughter I might have in the future). Source: The Amazing World of Gumball

Happy to say I’m finally out of my coaching dry spell from the summer and coaching CVCHS boys fall ball! Happy to see new players and returning players 😁 New players are welcome, just contact coach Scott Neal. For returning players, who haven’t been at today’s session and don’t have any commitments, join us Tuesdays and Thursdays, because for the 2025 season, we’re either going big or going home!
