Inching Closer to Book Release

I just met with the printer to review the proofs for the book inserts - and they look awesome!

Are the inserts necessary? No.

Can I begin distributing Talk of the Town without them? Of course.

But it’s not the feeling I’m going for.

The book is being used as a marketing premium and that incudes the cool insert created by the graphics team.

I’m a collector at heart and when I give the book to each business owner, I want the person to get the “complete set.”

Also too, if a reader decides to hire me (and my team), I want them to know that I’m always going to give my absolute best effort and never rush something just to get it done.

This ensures the first impression is a great and memorable one.

Service-based business owners in NEPA are welcome to drop your name in the comments to reserve a copy.

This Mindset Helped Me Overcome a BIG Mistake During a Livestream

During the opening minutes of a live interview, I accidentally kicked myself out of the studio, leaving the guest by himself.

I made a rookie mistake and looked like a fool. I could have fixated on my error, but that would only make matters worse.

Instead, I laughed it off and got back down to business.

That’s a flexible mindset. The ability to adapt your thoughts, behaviors, and responses to a changing situation. Developing a flexible mindset can be a secret weapon of sorts when it comes to overcoming challenging situations in life and business.

MEET THE SBDC of WILKES UNIVERSITY

The Wilkes University Small Business Development Center has provided no-cost, confidential consulting services to existing small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs around NEPA since 1979.

Its mission is to empower aspiring and existing small business owners with the knowledge, resources, consulting, and mentoring they need to start, grow, and prosper.

I’m happy to announce staff from the SBDC will be in attendance on Wednesday.

📙 First Public Appearance

TALK OF THE TOWN made its first public appearance in August at Empowered Podcasting Conference. @empoweredpodcasting

My intention was to host a local book release party in NEPA as soon as it was published but I knew I couldn’t dedicate the time to promote two events, especially since EPC3 was in Charlotte and that required a lot of attention.

So the TALK OF THE TOWN release party was pushed back a bit. But that’s ok because for the last few weeks, this event has been my primary focus.

More than a book signing, the TALK OF THE TOWN release party is a celebration of local businesses and organizations that want to make a positive impact in our community.

This week I’ve been highlighting the many business leaders that will be in attendance and I’m going to continue to shine a light on the groups that will be there on Wednesday.

If you want to make a bigger impact in NEPA then make sure you attend. And if there’s someone you want to meet, let me know and I’ll arrange an introduction.

One of the reasons I started this show was to be able to interview and learn from purpose-driven entrepreneurs who are doing amazing things in the world. I was always inspired by the story of Napoleon Hill, an ordinary person who set out to interview extraordinary business leaders of his day. In the process of interviewing these great and successful people, he experienced life-changing growth and success himself.

This week’s guest on Purpose First Entrepreneur was Junaid Ahmed, and I learned a lot from him before we even went live. Junaid – a Home Studio Architect, podcaster, and author – offered a few helpful tips for my camera setup that improved the visual look and framing for the interview, not to mention everything I’ll do in the future!
