🧡🦃 HELPING HANDS, FRESH EXPRESSION: THANKSGIVING GIVEBACK DRIVE! 🦃🧡 As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded that not everyone has access to the basic necessities they need. While many of us prepare to celebrate with family and friends, there are individuals and families in our community who could use a helping hand. That’s why we need YOUR support! 🤝❤️ Through our Helping Hands, Fresh Express initiative, we are collecting donations of essential hygiene products and financial contributions to help give back to those in need. Our goal is to distribute these items around Thanksgiving time to bring comfort, care, and a little extra support to members of our community. 🧼🪥🧴 EVERY DONATION MAKES A DIFFERENCE! 🙌🏾 Whether you donate toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion, soap, hand sanitizer, or make a monetary contribution, your generosity helps us get one step closer to our goal. No contribution is too small, and every item donated can make a meaningful impact in someone’s life. ❤️ We cannot do this alone! We need the support of our community, friends, families, and everyone willing to lend a helping hand. Your donations are not just products or money; they represent kindness, compassion, and the reminder that someone cares. 🫶🏾 💵 CASH APP: $TheSanctuary_23 ZELLE: Contact@sanctuary-collective.org DONOR BOX: Donorbox.org/support-youth-empowerment-at-the-sanctuary DONATE, SHARE, AND SPREAD THE WORD! Every helping hand counts. Let’s make this Thanksgiving about more than what we receive—let’s make it about what we give. 🧡🤎 #HelpingHandsFreshExpress #ThanksgivingGiveback #DonationDrive #BaltimoreCommunity #SpreadKindness by @coachsambrand
Some insight from @coachsambrand during shooting week @thesanctuary_collective where the personal development goes far beyond the game of Basketball! Stay tuned for more! by @coachsambrand
Learning, growing, and building community beyond the classroom. This past Friday, our Sanctuary Academy Co-op took advantage of the beautiful Baltimore weather with a walk down to the Inner Harbor. What started as a walk turned into an afternoon of football, fun, and team bonding in the sand at Rash Field Park. Days like this are an important part of what we’re building through the Sanctuary Co-op. Development isn’t limited to academics or basketball—it’s also about relationships, communication, teamwork, wellness, and giving our young people opportunities to simply enjoy being together. The weather couldn’t have been better, and our group made the most of it! A special thank you to @mayorbmscott, Baltimore City, and everyone involved in creating and maintaining spaces like Rash Field for our young people, families, and community to enjoy. Having safe, accessible spaces where youth can play, connect, and be active matters. Sometimes the best team-building activities aren’t planned—they happen when you get outside, put the phones away, grab a football, and enjoy the city. This is The Sanctuary Academy Co-op. Developing the whole student-athlete—on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. #TheSanctuary #TheSanctuaryAcademyCo-op #StudentAthletes #BaltimoreYouth #YouthDevelopment by @coachsambrand
Exposure. Experience. Opportunity. Our Sanctuary Academy Co-op athletes had the opportunity to visit Towson University and get an inside look at what college basketball looks like at the next level with the Towson Tigers 🐯 Our student-athletes were able to watch a college practice up close, take mental notes, and see firsthand the pace, communication, discipline, attention to detail, and level of competition required to compete at a high level. Even more impactful, our athletes had the chance to meet and have one-on-one conversations with college players, ask questions, and learn from athletes who are currently living the experience many of them aspire to reach. At The Sanctuary, development goes beyond workouts. We want our young people to see what’s possible, learn what it takes, and understand the work required to get there. A huge thank you to Towson Tigers and @iitsdimee for opening the doors and creating a meaningful experience for our Academy athletes. See it. Learn it. Apply it. 📚🏀 #TheSanctuary #TheSanctuaryAcademyCo-op #TowsonUniversity #TowsonBasketball #BasketballDevelopment by @coachsambrand

SEEING THE FUTURE. EXPERIENCING THE STANDARD. Today, The Sanctuary Academy Co-op had the incredible opportunity to visit The University of Maryland and watch the Maryland Terps practice! ❤️💛🖤 This experience was about so much more than basketball. We wanted our student-athletes to see what’s possible when they commit themselves to excellence in the classroom, on the court, and in every area of their development. Sometimes you have to see it to believe it. Today, our athletes got to see the level of preparation, discipline, teamwork, and commitment it takes to compete at the next level. We are incredibly grateful to Coach Buzz, the Maryland players, and the entire staff for welcoming The Sanctuary Academy Co-op into your home and allowing our young people to experience this firsthand. And the most important part? Our athletes didn’t just leave inspired — they left with a better understanding of what THEY individually need to work on to reach their goals. The future is not promised. The future is built. Keep working. Keep learning. Keep developing. Keep believing. The Sanctuary Academy Co-op — preparing student-athletes for what’s next. 🏀📚 #TheSanctuary #SanctuaryAcademyCo-op #MarylandTerrapins #StudentAthleteDevelopment #BasketballDevelopment by @coachsambrand

THE WALK. THE TALK. THE RELATIONSHIP. Some relationships in basketball go far beyond the game. The Sanctuary would like to take a moment to highlight Maryland Basketball Head Coach Buzz Williams @teamcoachbuzz and the kind of person he has consistently shown himself to be. The first time Coach Buzz recruited one of my players, he didn’t just come in, watch basketball, and leave. He spent an entire school day watching me teach—from Algebra to Calculus. He took the time to understand the person, the educator, and the environment surrounding the player he was recruiting. And he’s kept that relationship going. Year after year, Coach Buzz has stayed in touch and made sure to tell me about Buzz’s Bunch, especially knowing how much that work means to my family because of my cousin with Asperger’s. A lot of coaches talk about real relationships.
They talk about relationships with substance.
They talk about treating people with love, dignity, and respect. Coach Buzz walks the walk. This summer, he hosted an incredible event- Buzz’s Bunch and made sure our guy Devonte was invited to participate. IYKYK. ❤️ For Devonte, this was more than an event. It was a moment. A dream come true. And for everyone at The Sanctuary who knows Devonte, getting to witness that moment meant EVERYTHING. Coach Buzz — thank you for seeing Devonte, welcoming him, and creating a memory he will carry forever. Thank you for showing that the relationships we build through basketball can extend far beyond the court. At The Sanctuary, we believe basketball is an entry point to something much bigger: community, connection, holistic wellness, and creating a safe home for our people. Coach Buzz, you continue to show us what that looks like. Thank you for walking the walk. 🫶🏾🏀 #TheSanctuary #MarylandBasketball #BuzzWilliams #BuzzsBunch #Community by @coachsambrand
