POSTS STORIES REELS

Even when the life presents challenges and mornings are cold, I always find my way back here.

To prune.
To process.
To grieve.
To celebrate.
To laugh.
To cry.
To dream.
To listen to the Divine.

And

to remember that I am.

(BTW…breakfast is going to be amazing.)

It’s been a few weeks since we ventured to Sedona for the Journey to Enlightenment Retreat.

And while we journey together all year, through group sessions, collective readings, and individual support, meeting there brings us all together to rest, reflect, reset our nervous systems, and deepen our commitment to growing and evolving while giving ourselves and each other grace. I’m grateful for each soul who has been a part of the journey, especially those who made it possible.

I return home each year feeling recharged and able to pull from the power of the experience until it’s time to go back.

But I return often in my meditations and memories. The beautiful and also mysterious thing about the brain is that it allows us to experience memories, and even what we imagine, as though they’re happening. So every day, I can return there, not to escape but to be reminded that the peace, joy, and clarity I experienced don’t exist outside of me. The memories are simply the spark, awakening what already exists.

What’s a beautiful memory or experience that you can call forward as you begin your day? What does it activate in you? What does it remind you of? How does it make you feel in your body?

Stay with the memory for a minute or two, allowing your senses to bring forth the sounds, smells, and feelings you experienced when it happened. Allow the joy, love, excitement, and all the positive feelings to grow within you like a light getting brighter. Then allow it to fill the room. Feel it all around. And if you’re willing, think of someone you’d like to share this energy with. Maybe you imagine that you’re sharing the love and joy you feel with your partner, your child, or the world.

And when you’re ready, give thanks and move forward into your day, remembering that you can return to your place of peace, beauty, or joy at any time because it’s within you.

Blessings & love 😘

On Saturday, OMG Wellness Bar hosted an amazing group of women at Delta Arts Center for Blend & Be — two hours of scent, reflection, and community following the screening of Skylark.

We worked with the Straw into Gold exhibit as our backdrop, which turned out to be exactly right. That is what the morning was. Ordinary things spun into something each woman needed.

The conversation was so rich, and the questions so powerful, that we nearly missed the blend in Blend & Be!

But we got there. Lavender for rest. Orange for lift. Frankincense to steady. They stirred those scents into their own OMG body butter and body soak.

What they walked out with wasn’t just a product. It was a scent curated by their own wisdom, and in choosing it, they learned something about what they need and what they desire.

Thank you @shenell_thompson and Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust for sponsoring this experience, and for understanding that caring for the people doing the work is part of the work.

Thank you to Dr. Yanique Redwood and Mignotae Kebede for Skylark. To Alexis Overstreet, my partner in building Breathe. Rest. Be., thank you for the room you held for somatic practice on Thursday and the one you helped hold on Saturday.

Thank you to Tonya Mann and Next Level Catering for another wonderful spread that had people talking and planning.

And to my daughter Madison, who was my assistant for the day. Thank you, baby.

We don’t get to do life without loss, and yet being able to experience grief and joy together is a gift.

Last week, my big brother, Terrance, laid his father to rest, and it reminded me so much of when I did the same years ago.

Reminiscing with him taught me an important lesson about the power of love and forgiveness. And while his heart will heal in its own time and way, what I know for sure is that it is beautiful and open enough to hold love, grief, and joy. All the while, we’ll be here loving him and reminding him to keep growing.

It felt so good to be in my garden after a few weeks of traveling and focused work. Growing watermelons was a challenge this season but we did it!

I’m grateful for those that matured and for the lessons I learned about consistency from the ones that did not.

Instead of rushing to plant before winter, I’m enjoying this extended season of growth and the fruit of my productive little garden. It reminds me of what’s possible when I put my love into something.

Happy Sunday!

I don’t have words for this chapter of parenting.

What I do know is that I’m grateful for our bond and for “Hi Mom” texts and random calls.

I am grateful that dinner with me, while I’m in town, is as much of a joy for her as it is for me.

I am grateful for the lessons she continues to teach me.

This evening, I had the pleasure of listening to my good sis @melvasampson read from her new book, “Pink Robe Chronicles,” and to witness her being celebrated by her colleagues.

And while we celebrate this brilliant work, I want to thank you for pushing through.

Watching you this evening reminded me of Dr. Angelou’s last public appearance at WFU. She used to say “you’ve already been paid for.” The more I live the more I understand that to mean “you’ve always been enough.”

I believe she’d be proud and that there’d be a copy of PRC in her library.

Managing his eczema as a toddler inspired the creation of what became @omgwellnessbar’s Whipped Shea Body Butter years later.

Today, he’s the creative responsible for many of our products and is helping us introduce OMG to new audiences.

No matter where life takes him, I’ll always cherish these moments that remind me of how blessed we are.

Way bigger 🎶

I think it’s time to find a cute wrought iron bistro table and chair set and a little bench so that I can set here anytime I want. by @coachshayla

Getting ready for my next Reiki session is a healing practice in and of itself.

While sending love and light to my client, I create a container for our time together by:

• Smudging the space to cleanse the air and the energy.
• Playing a sound bowl to invite in energy and support.
• Dressing the table to support their comfort.
• Grounding myself and setting intentions to suspend my ego so that I can offer the support my client deserves.

@omgwellnessbar, we enter each session with reverence for the soul who will occupy the table and for the honor we have to hold space for them.

We’re here whenever you’re ready.
