Year 2 is here, and I’m excited to be working with the guys who believe in our leadership and program. I’ve learned a lot and made some mistakes along the way, but I know that God doesn’t make mistakes. I’m grateful and appreciative for every one of our supporters! This is bigger than basketball; it’s about building a brotherhood and bond that can never be broken. God, Please keep those who don’t mean us well and have different agendas away from our program.

It’s always wonderful when people with similar interests join forces! I’m incredibly proud and excited to welcome Travell Amicks to my coaching team! The experience and knowledge you bring to our program are greatly appreciated and well-received. If you’re not familiar with it, I’ll give you a quick rundown: Travell is a former overseas pro, a 4-year head coach at Chi-Prep, a master skill developer, an excellent recruiter, and just a fantastic person overall! Welcome to the Jungle!

I look forward to seeing this kid in person. I heard nothing but great things about this young man game. Long, Athletic, Crafty, Skilled and got some swagger to his game.

Guess what another one of them guys in the Class of 2032 will be in the building: Help me welcome Kayden McClendon to the @chiprepacademy Who Want The Smoke Middle School Open Run for 5/6 and 7/8th graders.

I am extremely proud of this group of kids and all our coaches. Our 17u @chiprep.basketball.club squad went 4-1 @madehoops @madehoopsevents in Chicago Live Session and 9-1 in the last two weeks @madehoopsevents in Chicago. Today we beat a team from Seattle and a team Montreal, Canada. We was down 20 points and fought back to win the second game. Just a group of young men that play hard , scrappy and play defense 94 feet. We don’t care who do or don’t show up. Next man up mentality. Coach Travell and Coach Davon got these kids playing the game the right way. Just know we are going to make it a dog fight and you better bring your hard hat 🎩.

We are going to make sure these kids go to college and play ball if they choose on some level….

We allowed for Davon “Kanelo” Steans Jr. @dsteenjr22 to play up 17u @madehoops @madehoopsevents Chicago Live Session yesterday and today with our @chiprep.basketball.club 17u team. Yesterday, he had 15 points and today he ran off 12 points straight with the game on the line . The gym was going 🥜’s. This kid got killer in his blood. 🩸 Not scared of the big moment. Refs said wait this kid playing up (4) levels. Yes, he is in 7th grade and playing up (4) levels. We must challenge this kid so he can reach his full potential. We still have a lot to work on and I will push him like never before. I know greatness when I see it. #Classof2031 #ChiPrepBasketballClub
