The next day Amanda texted;
Yeah I was expecting to be sore and I kinda like that part bc it’s a good kind of sore, not a lack of mobility type of pain. I feel more mobile and that pain that was shooting thru my scapula and down my arm is gone. It’s just the numbness I’m still fighting.

The 2nd day Amanda texted;
Really good! The numbness seems a bit better when I’m not sitting. If I sit it’s really bad. But literally no pain!

The goal is always for the client to better. Either; less pain, improved range of motion or smoother movement. It’s not magic, it’s neurology.🧠⚡️ by @coachvenable

CARs (controlled articular rotations) and the Bandbell Rhino bar are hard combination to beat. You already know, you gotta practice what you preach. by @coachvenable

Training day with Whitney & Riley💪🏻
Whitney injured her wrist playing volleyball… but the session still happened.
Because the goal isn’t the exercise — it’s the body.
The movement is just the tool we use to adapt, strengthen, and keep progressing.
Injured or not, we find a way.
Adapt. Train. Keep building. by @coachvenable

Paxton putting in work. 🧠💪

Training through an Internal Strength Model means we’re developing more than just how much weight he can move.

We’re training:

• Joint Health & Function (CARs)
• Max Strength
• Speed Strength
• Reactive Strength

The goal is to build a body that’s not only strong, but has control, usable range of motion, speed, and the ability to absorb force and react.

Joint health and function are the foundation. Everything else gets built on top of it.

HUMAN FIRST. ATHLETE SECOND. 🧠🩻 by @coachvenable

At my age—and honestly, at ANY age—doing hip and knee CARs are more important to me than doing the squat.

The squat doesn’t give me better hips or knees.

But having better hip and knee function can give me a better squat.

I’m not saying don’t squat. I’m saying don’t overlook the joints that make the squat possible.

You can’t move where you can’t move.

Train the movement. Maintain the joints. Then load it. 🧠🦴 by @coachvenable

Lainey contacted me and said she’d rolled her ankle in a game last night.🏐

We used the Volta X and worked through Ankle CARs (controlled articular rotations) with a focus on isometrics.

During the session, I observed improvements in ankle range of motion and smoother gait.

Lainey summed it up this way:

“Feels a lot better.”

We’ll continue supporting her movement quality, recovery and performance with the Volta X, CARs and isometrics. by @coachvenable

Harrison is back! 💪

After almost a month of our schedules conflicting, it was great to finally get him back in the gym.

One thing hasn’t changed—the foundation of our training is joint health and function.

It’s also the part of training most people don’t even touch.

Before we worry about how much you can lift, we need to make sure your body can move, control, produce and absorb force where it needs to.

Build the foundation. Then build everything else on top of it. 🧠🦴 by @coachvenable

The question I get asked a lot about the Volta is does it hurt? I wouldn’t use the word hurt but I will say it can be uncomfortable. You know what’s painful? An injury You know what’s painful? Not being able to play your sport. You know what’s painful? Regret
It’s your choice, a little discomfort or pain? Choose wisely🧠⚡️ by @coachvenable

It’s a long f*ing drive (7.5hrs) from Lincoln, NE to Grand Forks, ND. Thank the Creator for my Volta X! Shoutout to Dr Jarod Burton @train__efficiently and Evan Lewis @accelerate_x_ .👊🏾 by @coachvenable

Remy’s training isn’t just about strength—it’s about controlling your body.

What ranges of motion do you have access to, and are you training to maintain and expand them?

As Dr. Andreo Spina says:

“You can’t move where you can’t move.”

Train your body. Own your movement. Expand your options. by @coachvenable

Riley & Whitney are learning the exercises they’ll need for high school.

That’s their goal. My goal is bigger.

I want to teach them how to maintain and improve joint health, strength, and function.

Their homework isn’t more squats, benches, or deadlifts.

It’s daily CARs (controlled articular rotations).

Because the exercises are the tools—the human is the goal. 🧠 by @coachvenable

Training the athlete in front of you. 🧠🏐

Lainey arrived today tired, with sore legs after a full week of volleyball practice, playing 5 sets in her VB Game and doing heavy back squats at school.

So we adjusted the session to meet her where she was.

We started with Dr. Burton’s Neural Assessment System to help organize and balance the body, then moved into an explosive lift followed by upper-body strength, speed, and reactive strength work.

Joint health & function and core work were woven throughout the session, making sure we weren’t just checking boxes—we were addressing what Lainey needed that day.

We finished with a Volta Reset to help her recover faster from the physical demands placed on her body all week.

This is what a conjugate approach looks like:
Assess. Adapt. Train. Recover.

Every athlete. Every session. 🧠🩻🏐 by @coachvenable
