If you run Boston, and never posted it to your IG, does it even count?

A very late post, just in case. 😉 by @cobb2208

Because I wanted this 3:15 submission to have a permanent spot on my page.

And this photo should probably have a spot too.

Marathon number 9, and got to ring that PR 🔔

It was a damn good weekend. 🥹

Never did I ever think I’d be a 3:15 marathoner. Or maybe deep down I did, and that’s what got me there.

I’m so proud of this one. 😭🥹 by @cobb2208

Turkey Trot 2023 ✅
Beat all 3 boys ✅
3rd overall female ✅

Totally thought I was going to lose to a kid this time. I was prepared to hear ALL about it. 🤣But I beat them all and somehow managed a 21:33 in a race I didn’t plan on racing. Plan(made by Brandon in the car on the way to the race): go out at a 6:45 to pace him in the first mile (his idea) then I’d slowly die as he went on.
Actual: try to keep up with him at the start. Finally catch up to him .75 in. Run with him til 1.5. He started to fall apart and I left him 🤣 #nomercy and a good learning lesson. I told him over and over he should go out slower. When he finished he said “Ok next time I have to pace myself better”. *cough cough-told ya so-cough cough* Kid is stubborn like his momma tho, and is already wanting to race another 5k this weekend.
@luteinus took 3rd in his AG, and was very shocked to hear his name called. 👏🏻 👏🏻 Ty ran a strong race thanks to logging some extra miles in the weeks leading up to the race with @fleetfeetfayetteville
Thanks @salisburyrowanrunners for putting on a great race and the sweet prize of gas money to pay for our trip! by @cobb2208

🏅 Medal Monday 🏅

Goal was sub 3:20. Ran a 3:20:04. 🫠
Honestly, I thought I might be able to pull off 3:17ish. But it was a tough day, unseasonably warm temps, and I had to BATTLE for this 2 min PR. So, I’m proud of yesterday, even if it didn’t go exactly how I hoped. I was reminded how HARD marathons are. I wanted to cry so bad, but couldn’t waste the energy. I wanted to stop, but had already gone through hours of physically and mentally battling. I couldn’t get that far and quit. I had to tell myself (literally out loud) in the last miles “Rally April, you need to f’n rally.” I thought sub 3:20 was FAR gone and I wasn’t even sure I was going to PR (can’t do math at all while running, lol). Thinking that all my big goals were out the window, but still pushing through was hard. In the last mile and a half I realized I could still PR as long as I didn’t stop moving, and it wasn’t until the last .3 or so that I realized I’d be really close to 3:20. And damn I pushed SO hard. Missed it by 5 seconds.
But…I’m still proud. Marathons are hard, but that’s what makes us badass.
On to the next. 👏🏻

(Swipe to see how I really felt 😂)

#ThrowbackThursday 100 days later. 😂
Boston ‘23, you won me over. 🥹You showed me the Boston that everyone talks about. The energy. The magic. The spectators. That atmosphere you can’t find anywhere else. Boston ‘22 was special for sure, finally making it there after DREAMING of it was nothing short of amazing and SO emotional….but it chewed me up and spit me out. I was overwhelmed before I even toed the start line. It was a lot to take in, and I learned a lot. This year I went back with what I learned. More confident, more relaxed, and feeling like a belonged there. I was able to soak it all in. The WHOLE trip was just incredible. I saw Boston in a whole new light. And the race itself…I’ve never felt SO good during a marathon. I gave allllll the high fives (even to a dog!) I yelled back at the crowds. I waved my hands in the air, telling them to make more noise. I blew kisses. And I SMILED almost the whole damn time. There was no wall. There was no “Everything hurts and this is stupid and I’m never running a marathon again” moment, which I find during every damn marathon. I was too busy running my heart out. I was fully enjoying doing what I LOVE to do, in the place I dreamed of someday doing it.
I surprised myself by not only BQing in Boston with a 12+ min buffer, and beating my time from last year by 20 mins, but I managed to pull off a marathon PR with a 3:22:12. Damn proud of those numbers. But really, those numbers aren’t what made Boston so special. It was so much more. Shout out to the people that helped make it extra amazing… @luteinus I literally couldn’t do it without you. You have pushed me and believed in me. You’ve crewed my races, and ran around towns worrying about me. You’ve made it so I can do what I love. You are always there to catch me if I fall, or celebrate with me when I win. (And dry my tears that inevitably fall either way) Thanks for being my biggest fan. I ❤️ you. @jesshads My Boston buddy. I 100% mean it when I say Boston wouldn’t be as special without you. Working our butts off to get there, and getting to experience it all with you is just so special. @advocate4sanity and Heidi, getting to (cont. in comments) by @cobb2208
