Financial Planner serving people in grief.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This Memorial Day, we remember the heroes who didn’t come home.

Their sacrifice gave us the freedom to gather, to worship, to speak, and to hope. Their courage humbles us, and we don’t take it lightly.

To those who lost someone in service, we see you. We honor your grief and your strength.

Wishing you a day filled with meaning, gratitude, and remembrance. by @cobb_dillon

Gratitude creates space for generosity. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

We are designed to give of our time, energy, attention, and, yes, our money. Me? I struggle with the concept of enough. Rather than having what I want, I should instead want what I have.

Am I alone in struggling to want what I have? I can’t be the only one who’s held back from giving because I wanted more for myself, right? by @cobb_dillon

What’s your advisor doing on Tax Day?

If my clients have already filed their return, I’ve already read it. Not out of curiosity, but with a highlighter and a strategy in mind. 🖊️📄

For some, we’ll take more capital gains this year because income is down. For others, we’ll hold back, knowing next year’s income will be higher.

Some are already giving to charity with appreciated stock. Others are using their IRA for Qualified Charitable Distributions.

This isn’t just about April 15th. It’s about using the return to guide the rest of the year with intention.

Small, smart choices now can help lower next year’s tax bill.

So I’ll just say it plainly. If your advisor isn’t reviewing your tax return each year, they’re not planning. They’re just selling.

💬 Do you feel confident that your tax return is being used well? Or does it just get filed and forgotten? by @cobb_dillon

Someone always has a reason to sell. Always.
But history tells a different story.

📉 In March 2020, the market crashed hard. It was scary. Many sold.
📈 But just weeks later, the market began one of the strongest rebounds ever.

If you jumped to cash and stayed there…you missed the comeback.
One of the charts below shows what that actually cost—over $500,000 lost compared to staying invested. 😳

And it’s not just 2020.
The first chart? Dozens of scary headlines over the years.
Yet despite all of it, the market kept climbing. +562% from 2009 to 2021.

The second chart shows why:
Missing just the best 10 days over 20 years cuts your return nearly in half.
And those “best days”? They usually come right after the worst ones.

This doesn’t mean ignoring your gut or taking unnecessary risks.
It means panic is expensive.
Patience is powerful.

📌 Not investment advice. Talk to your financial professional before making changes to your plan.

Which of these charts hits home for you today? 💬👇 by @cobb_dillon

I recently looked over a client's Will. It was simple, which I usually prefer, but this one was too simple. It left out some important people in her life, like the parents of her grandkids.

We solved it easily, with little effort from her.

Because I know her situation, we had a 30-minute conversation about some what-ifs, which gave us both clarity. I emailed her a quick summary of her wishes, and she gave me the green light to connect her with a local attorney.

She booked the appointment and asked the law office if I could join. I was her moral support, interpreter, and helper. Now, she has a new Will that truly reflects what she wants.

Does your advisor look at your Will? Would they know what to look for, or show up to help with the conversation?

If not, maybe it’s time for a different kind of advisor. by @cobb_dillon
