We’re looking forward to showing The Silo at Afterlife – A Tribute to Difficult Buildings, a new exhibition at @utzoncenter exploring what happens when existing buildings are transformed, reinterpreted and given new life. Opening October 7, the exhibition brings together 17 projects from across Denmark - each with its own story of transformation.

Hyllie Terrass wins the SAPA Sustainability Award 2026.

Located in the Hyllie neighbourhood in Malmö, Sweden, Hyllie Terrass is a new office building with a strong focus on reducing its climate footprint, certified with WELL Gold, LEED Platinum and Sweden’s Net-Zero (NollCO2) certification.

As the jury puts it: “SAPA Sustainability Award is given to Hyllie Terrass for its consistent, measurable and holistic work, which clearly promotes the development towards more sustainable building practices.”

Across Denmark, new meeting places are popping up, giving local communities new spaces to meet, gather and spend time together. Between 2025 and 2027, 150 meeting places will take shape across the country as part of @realdaniadk’s 25th anniversary initiative, Vores Sted (Our Place), @voressted_realdania.

Four types of pavilions make up the project: The Community Roof, The Nature Base, The Workshop, and The Outdoor Living Room. Designed to adapt to different contexts, they can take shape in forests, open landscapes, villages and more urban settings. Each type was developed with the ambition of fostering community while minimising environmental impact, constructed primarily from reused and biogenic materials.

A new book takes you into 25 of the 150 communities and associations receiving one of these new gathering spaces. It explores the stories behind the places, as well as the architecture and circular principles behind the project. Milestone in Estonia! Yesterday, we celebrated the cornerstone of Kasvuhoone at @krulli.kvartal in Tallinn. The project is part of the transformation of a former steelworks into a new mixed-use city district. Inside a machine hall built in 1899, Kasvuhoone will bring together startups, accelerators, creative industries and community initiatives. The project gives the old mechanics workshop a new life and function, while working within heritage protection restrictions and prioritizing resource awareness. The historic façade will be preserved, while the building’s concrete columns, staircases, cranes, panels and steel trusses will be reused and combined with a new timber structure.

A new chapter for a building with more than 125 years of history.

The first phase of @museumwegner is now open to the public. The historic marsh farm Hestholm in Tønder, Denmark, has been carefully restored and transformed, with exhibition spaces, a café, museum shop, and workshops. The architecture builds on what was already there. The main building has regained its traditional thatched roof, while the stables now feature a new steel roof, and new openings connect the interiors to the surrounding landscape, bringing the marshes, meadows, groves, and streams into the museum experience. Visit Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

During summer in Copenhagen, the harbor becomes the city’s urban living room. At Paper Island, the edge between city and water is more than a place to pass through. It’s a place to swim, stroll, meet, eat and experience the city. Lfe moves outdoors, and the harbor becomes a shared space for everyday moments.

Summer transforms Copenhagen’s harbor into one connected landscape of parks, swimming spots and public spaces. The Opera Park is designed as a place to slow down by the water where Copenhageners and visitors can gather, wander, read, picnic or simply enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by nature and the harbor.

Seventeen projects from In Transformation, our recent exhibition at @architektur_galerie_berlin. Some are built, some in progress, some paused, others still on the drawing board. Together, they span scales and typologies, from large scale masterplans and urban regeneration to small, fine-grained interventions, from buildings to public spaces. Each project has its own story, each place its own narrative, but always forming a unique relationship with what was already there.
