By day, Collette Otsu drives growth at BellaNaija, shaping African media. By night, she grabs a microphone as the founder of Vibes with an Outsider; a karaoke night built for the introverts, shy creatives, and corporate workers who usually feel out of place in loud clubs.

We sat down with her to find out how she balanced this double life and how she finds the energy to dominate both the office and the nightlife.

Collette is completely changing how we party. She took the judgmental vibe of regular clubs and replaced it with a room where singing terribly is a badge of honour. By giving the microphone to the people who usually hide in the corner, she is doing more than hosting events. She is building a massive empire of genuine, like-minded people who finally have a place to belong.

Working on the weekend like usual... but make it business.

I think there’s this idea that being “outside” is only about the fun and the vibes. But behind every great night in Lagos, there’s so much intentionality and strategy making the magic happen.

I am sharing a bit of my heart (and my head) on the evolution of the scene, from simple gatherings to a serious business model. It is been a journey of learning that nightlife is just as much about the numbers as it is the music.

If you are looking for a Karaoke spot in Lagos, you should know about Live Lounge

I went to Live Lounge for a Karaoke party last year and somehow, I never stopped going back.

So, what keeps bringing me back?

Let us start with the ambience. It is cosy, low-lit and has that perfect night-out feel without being too much.

Then there are the cocktails and bites. And I have to mention the wings because they are easily one of my favourites.

The staff are genuinely friendly, the hospitality is great, and the whole experience feels relaxed and easy.

And apparently, Karaoke happens every Thursday at Live Lounge in Victoria Island, Lagos.

If you have been looking for somewhere to sing, eat, have a few drinks and just enjoy your Thursday night, perhaps this is your sign to check it out.
