sometimes making cakes feels a little like dancing to me ✨
the textures, flowers and flavours slowly unfolding and finding their place together.

Flavour: toasted coconut cake, passionfruit whipped ganache + torched swiss meringue buttercream

a half sheet cake of sunshine ☀️

toasted coconut cake, lemon yuzu curd and torched swiss meringue buttercream

made for the sweetest “here comes the son” celebration last weekend and for a couple whose wedding cake i made a few years ago, which made this one feel especially meaningful 💛

A quiet moment ✨

These in-between moments are some of my favourite parts of the process.

I don't often stop to capture cakes at this stage, but I loved this one just as it was before the flowers. All those little folds and flowing lines of buttercream 🤍

One more for the garden before she goes to sleep 🌿

Lemon, raspberry + yuzu. White dahlias, cosmos, snapdragons + whatever little treasures I could find @thelibertyinn

Got the loveliest message afterwards that this was the best cake they’d ever had and not a bite was left. Your sweet messages always make my day 🤍

Cakes that belong on a picnic table, pt. 2 🌿

An ode to the second half of summer. I'm already missing the peak-season strawberries and flowers in the garden 🌼

A very long, very garden-y cake for Kasia + Denis @goodearthniagara 🤍 Kasia was an absolute dream to work with and gave me complete freedom with this one. I got to gather up all the beautiful little seasonal things and just play.

Also, it turns out there is absolutely no graceful way to photograph three feet of cake so here are too many photos and a video because I couldn't decide 😂

Flavour: lemon raspberry yuzu
Florals: @snowberrybotanicals
Micro greens: @goldfarm_canada

These ones have been sitting in my camera roll since the end of August. They’ll always be special to me, as I decorated them just after we said goodbye to our sweet dog, Biscotti.

Three cakes for a post-wedding brunch, covered in beautiful things grown and gathered by wonderful people. Making them felt like a little reminder that even alongside heartache, there is still so much beauty in the world. So much togetherness, tenderness and just so much love. Maybe making something beautiful gave me a place for all that love and deep feeling to go 🤍
