I wrote this two years ago. Two years without you has been surreal. it feels like a lifetime. The world is different now. I think it has taken me so long to post because I didn’t want to accept it. I love you so much Toddy! You are forever missed.

my first memory with you is sitting in your lap coloring. you also had a small table i would draw at, while we both looked out the twelfth story window of your office. You were gentle, dependable, logical, trustworthy. You accompanied me during one of the hardest days of my life. We became close in no time at all. I loved how you treated my mother. You made her feel safe and loved unconditionally. For that, I am forever grateful.
I remember spending hours with you doing math homework. You were patient, the kind of teacher who made it feel possible to succeed.

Todd, you were a good man. A person that I depended on for so many things. You were reliable. Steady like a mighty flowing river. You lived your life wisely - keeping to yourself, not harming others, looking to find good in everything. You respected me. You listened to me. You were quiet and reserved - so much going on in that tight running engine of a brain. You had a reason for things you did, things you believed in.

The last few years, you seemed to really be living your life. You seemed happy. A glow and a lightness I hadn’t seen in you since you were wearing your amazingly 80’s spectacles. You found peace in nature, running through the beautiful trails of Arkansas, a place you eventually called home. You seemed to feel more secure that ever in your body, your mind, your zest for life. you were living each moment to the fullest, doing the things you loved. You and mom seemed in sync more than ever, finding your groove while empty nesting. I was happy for y’all. You understood one another. by @cocohamp
