submitted my last final of undergrad in my favorite place today.

a couple of valentines days ago, i wrote down a prayer. then i didn’t stop. whenever i found myself in a place where the words in my head felt worthy of being written, i wrote them in the same note i started at the botans wetland that february day. i rounded that note off today. time to start a new one. i thought i’d share a couple of my favorites. they aren’t all written from the botans, but they are all inspired by the same God, whom i love. taken in State Botanical Garden of Georgia at UGA by @cocoodell

A Bittersweet Season
Liturgies of leaving, missing, and weeping coexist with those of gathering, waking, and loving in this season.

Isn’t that the Gospel?
Yes there is bad, but there is so much good.
The Good always overpowers,
always overcomes,
always endures.
Love endures all things.

Praise God for His Son who endured it all so that even the greatest of our hardships hold no weight compared to the eternal joy and hope that we have in Heaven.
Praise God.
Praise Him for liturgies of waking, for His waking on the third day, for my waking daily. May my daily waking and walking be worthy of His suffering and dying. May I die daily that I might live eternally with Him. by @cocoodell

He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase
To added afflictions, He addeth His mercy
To multiplied trials, He multiplies peace
When we have exhausted our store of endurance
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
The Father’s full giving has only begun
Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision
Our God ever yearns His resources to share
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing
The Father both thee and thy load will unbear
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure
His power no boundary known unto men
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus

if only i had a counter for every time i walked off stage and whispered “thank You, Lord” to myself this weekend. what a joy! cast, crew, family, and friends, i cannot thank you enough. thankful to be back on the stage and at The Stage. i love you all <3

i love valentine’s day because of the way it makes me notice the things that i love but overlook so easily without the reminder.

the squeak of our front door when visitors arrive,
abundant joy ringing through voices as they enter.
a bundle of laughter being thrown from the living room
and making it all the way up to my heart at my piano
because my bedroom door was left wide open.
it’s open because i love this little life i get to live
and i don’t want to miss a second of it.
