Behind the scenes at Coco’s…

Spoiler alert: it’s not always pretty. And it is DEFINITELY not always clean.

There are bowls everywhere, chocolate drips on the counter, sprinkles somehow end up in places sprinkles should never be, and at least once during every big order I question every life decision that led me here.

But somewhere in the middle of the mess… the cake pops start coming together. 🤍

One thing I’ve learned this first year of Coco’s is that the finished product might look pretty, but getting there usually looks a whole lot more like organized chaos, and sometimes not going to bed at all…(valentines and Mother’s Day I usually am awake for 48 hours) And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is me!
I started making cake pops years ago when my kids were little. I was a stay-at-home mom, loved to bake, and wanted something fun and creative that was just for me.
Years later, Brady kept telling me I should turn it into a business. And I was TERRIFIED. I kept thinking, What if I put myself out there and nobody orders?
Thankfully, my neighbor Kim did. She was my very first paying customer.
Then came my first big order—400 cake pops for my daughter’s real estate company party.
Since then, Coco’s has been part of weddings, birthdays, baby showers, celebrations of life, corporate events, and so many special moments. I even made the cake pops for my own wedding. 🤍
But somewhere along the way, Coco’s became about so much more than cake pops.
I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, a working mom, a single mom, and a stay-at-home mom again. For so many years, so much of my life has been about taking care of everyone else.
I wanted something I started, Something I could grow, Something I could be proud of, Something that was mine. Coco’s became that for me.
And I definitely didn’t do it alone. Brady learned to roll the perfect cake pop (after his first one looked like a football 😂), my mom has driven 45 minutes countless times just to help me roll, and my family, friends, and customers have supported me more than they’ll ever know.
And the name Coco? That goes all the way back to when I was about six years old and would make an Easter egg every year with “COCO” written on it. Years later, Coco became my grandma name—and eventually the name of this little business.
After all the late nights, rolling, dipping, decorating, and celebrations I’ve been trusted to be a tiny part of, I can say something I don’t say often enough:
I’m really proud of myself.
And to every person who has ordered, shared my name, recommended me, trusted me with a special moment, or simply cheered me on…

COCO’S CAKE POPS TURNS ONE IN 5 DAYS!!

How has it already been almost a YEAR?!
Five days from now marks one whole year since I officially started Coco’s Cake Pops.

What started as something I had been doing and loving for years finally became my own little business—and this first year of Coco’s has been sweeter than I ever imagined.

So of course… we’re celebrating. 🎉

For the next 5 days, I’m sharing a little bit of Coco’s story, some of my favorite moments from our first year, and maybe a SWEET surprise for you too. 👀
