THROWBACK THURSDAY!

Browsing YouTube the other day and found the BBC had this clip up on their channel from the last time we did AVA Festival in 2023.

Our whole set was broadcast live on the BBC's site at the time for Across The Line, wish we still had all of the footage! Still though, good times 😎 taken in Titanic Slipway by @coda_belfast

M.A.M. is a Galway-based DJ rooted in the underground techno scene, known for deep, rolling sets that blend hypnotic techno with broken rhythms and raw groove. His sound is heavily influenced by the UK rave movement of the 90s and artists such as Leftfield, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, and Underworld — drawing inspiration from the energy, atmosphere, and emotion that defined that era.

His sets move through deep hypnotic grooves, textured atmospherics, and broken percussion, creating a natural rhythm and flow that keeps dancers locked in from start to finish. As a resident with Basement Project, M.A.M. has built a reputation for immersive late-night journeys shaped by warehouse culture and underground sounds rather than trends.
Over the years he has played at festivals and events including Life Festival, Happy Daze, Scrobarnach, Elysium Circus, and Lunasa, bringing a deep and driving energy to each set. He has also supported a range of respected Irish artists including Myler, Jamie Behan, Jon Hussey, Casper Hastings, Doug Cooney, Cailín, Derek Carr, and Meadbh O’Connor, alongside international names such as Blawan, Rebekah, Mike Dehnert, and Esther Duijn.

Alongside live performances, M.A.M. has released a number of mixes on SoundCloud, showcasing the deeper and more experimental side of his sound and giving listeners a glimpse into the musical journeys that define his sets.

For M.A.M., techno is about connection, atmosphere, and getting lost in the groove — carrying forward the spirit of the 90s rave scene while carving out his own place within Ireland’s underground electronic community.

2 more days until we show Cravo our famed Belfast hospitality. In the mean time let focus on the first of our support acts on the night - Adam Munn. Better known for his techno sets and productions but for this he’ll be opening things up with an extra special house set. What makes it extra special? You’ll have to come see for yourself! 😜
