Well, this took a little longer than planned.

Back in 2020, after James had moved to London, we announced that Coda Room London would be launching “soon.”

Apparently we were using that word pretty loosely.

Today, August 31, 2026, it’s finally official: Coda Room London is up and running.

The timing ended up being kind of perfect. Coda Room Chicago opened in August 2016, so London arrives exactly ten years later.

Chicago is still very much alive with Mike, Castle and the team there. London is primarily James’s working studio, giving Coda Room a permanent UK home for mixing, mastering, Dolby Atmos, recording when the project calls for it, and whatever else ends up happening in here.

A true hodgepodge of people helped get this thing from an idea to an actual room, so especially huge thanks to @roomsonics @warrenhuart @cam.shand_ @norlan.miller @veranoor.mp3 @itznotmealz @tephisawayrightnow @firthphoto @kevster1907 @robowave

We’re very happy to officially welcome Penny Eau to the Coda Room Audio Collective in London.

Penny joins us as an Engineer / Producer, bringing a background that spans songwriting, vocals, production, engineering, stereo mixing and Dolby Atmos. She studied Music at LIPA, earned her Master’s in Music Production at ICMP, and went on to complete the Dolby Atmos Mixing for Music programme at Abbey Road Institute.

Her own music has received support from BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music and NRK P3, with placements including Netflix’s Inventing Anna and The CW’s All American: Homecoming.

That combination of artist perspective and technical depth is a big part of what the Coda Room Collective is about.

10 years ago, before the gear was in place, before the walls were finished, and before Coda became what it is today, James Auwarter and Marty Azebetian had a vision.

They started with an empty room, a few pieces of equipment, and a belief that great music deserved a great place to be created.

What started as an idea became Coda Room Audio.

10 years of Coda.
