Still trying to find the right words… we have been dreaming of a fish like this our entire lives but it hardly seemed possible. Mom and Dad, thank you for giving us the ability to achieve our dreams, none of this is possible without you.

788.6 lbs, your new @mongooffshore Leader and @thembgfc Ladies Tournament winner.

God is great and good luck is evident, but we all know Papa sent this big girl to us ❤️ taken in The Mobile Big Game Fishing Club by @codebluesportfishing

Team Code Blue has officially taken the lead in the Mongo Blue Marlin Gulf Division with an absolute GIANT!

A massive congratulations to angler Sydney Prince on her first-ever blue marlin—and what a way to do it. You don’t forget a moment like that.

The weigh dock absolutely erupted when this fish hit the scales. The energy, the crowd, the celebration… this is what tournament fishing is all about.

We’re so proud of Sydney and the entire Code Blue team. Enjoy the moment—you’ve earned every second of it! 💙🎣🐟

Closed out the 2026 tournament season with the @thembgfc Labor Day Tournament and had a great trip! We went 2/4 on Blue Marlin and this big yellowfin gave us a last second live bait bite 8 minutes before our cutoff time to run in… came tight at 2:36 pm and after putting the heat to her with some heavy drag, we had her boated and put Code Blue on the pins at 3:03 pm. With a 110 mile run ahead of us we knew it was going to be tight to make the 6:00 pm cut off. Our ETA was 6:15 pm when we were approximately 43 miles south of Perdido Pass, then we lost steering 🙃 after some trouble shooting Captain @alexgili2000 had us back up and running and we made it through the rocks safely at 6:50 pm. Unfortunately this 177# brute would have earned us 2nd place in the Tuna category if we had made it in on time, but we are still grateful for the opportunity this fish gave us to finish off our tournament season strong! 2nd largest Tuna we’ve ever caught behind @davidgarstecki whopper 223.6# caught during this tournament last year. Thank you Lord for another safe and successful tournament season! taken in GULF of America by @codebluesportfishing

Code Blue adds another blue to the board!

After releasing one yesterday, the Code Blue crew followed it up with another fired-up blue marlin on Day 2 of the Labor Day Invitational.

Timing is everything.

Capt. Alex Soto and the Code Blue crew decided to put the drone up while trolling—and caught a pretty incredible moment from above. Watch as a marlin enters the spread, locks onto the long rigger bait and makes its move. It’s not often you get to see the bite develop from this perspective. The crew went on to successfully release the fish.

Great footage from one of our Heavy Hitter captains, Alex Soto and Code Blue. Link in bio to read more about their season.

Last year, @codebluesportfishing took home 1st Place Blue Marlin AND 1st Place Tuna at Labor Day! 🏆

And they haven’t slowed down since — Code Blue currently holds the MONGO Gulf lead for Blue Marlin with their 788.6 lb fish weighed during our Ladies Day Tournament.

Safe to say, they know how to bring them to the scales. 👀

Let’s see what else Code Blue is willing to bring to the docks this Labor Day! taken in The Mobile Big Game Fishing Club by @codebluesportfishing

During two seasons fishing Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Soto learned what an 800-pound-class fish looks like long before it reaches the transom. That experience paid off during the recent 2026 Mobile Big Game Fishing Club’s Ladies Tournament when the Code Blue, a 60-foot Hatteras GT based in Orange Beach, Alabama, hooked what would become the current Gulf Coast Heavy Hitter—a 788.6-pound blue marlin.

“We marked the fish on sonar, dropped a bait back, and almost immediately it was bit,” Soto recalled.

“When it came up on the leader the first time, I told the crew, “Get the gaffs out.” The marlin never jumped but Soto could see the silhouette of a big marlin right from the start.

The crew hesitated.

“Aren’t we going to measure it?”

Soto’s answer was immediate.

“No. Get the gaffs.”
