hey chooms, how's it going?
#talefortuesday is the new #microficmonday, so here's a new fiction snippet to enjoy!

QOTD: if an impossible door opened up right this second, where do you think it might take you? Where would you like it to go?

Embracing chaos seems to be the new order of the day, or is it just me who keeps finding the ground underfoot getting a bit rocky when you're just going about your regular gig? It's not all bad, but life swings fast and weird when you least expect it, chooms.

Saturday took a big hit with the loss of our eldest cat (thank you to anyone who reached out after my Story 💜), but these days I'm learning to find the still in the madness and keep my head up -- even when the punches bruise. If you ever need a friend in the chaos, i've got an ear to lend and maybe some vaguely daddish wisdom to impart if you're in the market and you catch me when i'm not trying to decode this whole "autism" thing. Either way, we're all stuck in the crazy together, just trying to get on with our day.

Stay safe, chooms by @codeborne_knight

Long time no see, chooms 😎

how is everyone? tell me what i missed with y’all

Life threw some curveballs my way, went through a personal growth arc I hadn’t asked for, and …somehow, I ended up here: better than ever and with exciting plans for the future.

including…

Fibre arts and crafts! Finally becoming the real punk rock queer I was meant to be. Cross stitch and custom patterns, embroidery for the bf, plans for Sensory Stim Hoops…
I’ve been busy 😎

(man—can you imagine it? I just love to run my hand along the different stitches 🤤).

Which brings me to the tiny identity update I’ve been wrestling with:

I am autistic.

And man, oh man, but it explains a lot. Nothing like recontextualising your entire life when something clicks into place!

After life went wild, I’m slowly getting back into my favourite video games, too (meet my Dark Urge Triskella and my newest V).

Ya’ll are gonna get to follow along their adventures… soon 👀

Because it's time we remembered that writing is meant to be fun.
And honestly? I'm probably the first author who needed that reminder. 😅😎

I’ll be back to writing soon, but in the meantime I am also working on several other things I’m excited to share with you all 👀😎

Thanks for sticking around, whether you've been here all along or you've only just found me. You’re all wonderful and I cannot wait to catch up and hear all about what you’ve been up to!

Here's to stories, making things with our hands, and finding our way back to the stuff that makes us feel alive. 💛 by @codeborne_knight

🌒 Microfic Monday 🌘
Prompt: Awakening

🌙

This is actually the epilog of a story I haven't figured out yet. It's been in my mind for a while now, but it might never work out. We'll see what happens 😊

🌙

Do not forget to give Leo's @warlockofthefirs and Alec's @cyber_spines a read.

🌙

There was sth I wanted to say, but then my neighbours thought they have to ruin my entire day and decades of good neighbourhood in a few minutes, and yeah... so that's it.
Hope you got a good day and wish you a great week. Take care and stay weird, Scoundrels 🖤

📡 Hey chooms!⁣

⁉️QOTD: Tell me something you enjoy doing that you don’t talk about much or at all on booksta!

🚀 #MicroficMonday is Awakening this week, and I am sticking to the cyberpunk. This one was really fun to write actually, but like last week’s I had to remind myself to stop after a bit cause I just wanted to keep writing haha

🚀 AOTD: There’s been a lot going on in my life offline atm, some good, some bad, some somewhere in between, but it has made me realise that the way I used to do booksta isn’t how I want to go forward. I will still be posting about books, yes, sometimes, but it won’t be the only content on my page. I want to share more of myself, to have a place for all the things that I love, from art to video games to whatever random skill I am currently trying to learn. It will also give me the chance to make this account feel more like the kind of author account where you get to see the person behind the words too.
I know not everyone will stick around when I’m no longer just a booksta account, but for whoever sticks around? Thank you, and I hope you’ll enjoy a trip for my varied activities!

ave, friends 💚⁣⁣⁣

QOTD: cosy fantasy recs?? Audio is essential! Or, tell me what you're reading!⁣
⁣
#MicroficMondays 9 - Awakening! Nine weeks of story nuggets. Make sure to check out @fendassor and @cyber_spines 's fics this week, too. ⁣
⁣
✒️ I'll be posting the microfics to a long form platform somewhere (maybe Substack 👀) "soon", along with more things in the future. ⁣
⁣
🍄 Bit flat in the caption this wk, I'm afraid, bc I'm all tapped out. Going thru some life-redefining stuff atm & it feels like time gets spent twice as quick. ⁣
⁣
⚔️ This story... it's a bit special. Different for me. It's not a throwaway microfic. I wrote it bc I needed smth sunny. ⁣
⁣
🌿 Wednesday, actually really this time, I'll be talking about WTWGT. a wip I will be wip-ing when I get the chance to sit down and be a person in the present instead of decoding the past. ⁣
⁣
☀️ Hope you're all well, and allowing yourself some softness and joy as the holidays creep closer 💚⁣

📡 Hey chooms!⁣

⁉️QOTD: If a machine tried to talk to you in code…would you answer?⁣
OR, what is the creepiest/strangest glitch or tech weirdness you have ever experienced?⁣

🚀 Today's #MicroficMonday is brought to you by the prompt “Whispers”. By the time I had my concept for this one I also had a whole book worth of ideas for something best described as Altered Carbon meets Nobody Wants To Die but make it all way more punk and transhuman (and throw in the song Empire of Steel by Scandroid in there too).⁣

@warlockofthefirs and I put our Yule tree up over the weekend and, having yet again misplaced our baubles hooks, I went out to look for more and…well, couldn’t find any anywhere, which is very ??? so instead I bought some flower arrangement wire and it was a) much cheaper, b) will last me a lot longer and c) means I can have whatever length I need, so really it worked out for the best :D⁣

🚀 AOTD: I would absolutely answer if one of my bits of tech tried to communicate haha, like no hesitation there. If I’m lucky enough to witness the emergence of consciousness in something else, I sure as hell won’t be looking away. ⁣
As for the second question, hmmm, I’m not sure honestly. Computers are mostly belligerent with me instead of being creepy, either that or they’re trying to give me heart attacks making me think they have lost my work lol.⁣

📡 Hey chooms!

⁉️QOTD: If you stumbled upon a perfect, impossibly beautiful garden in the wild...would you go in or walk away?

🚀 Today's microfic prompt is 'Murderous Flora' and we're brushing against sci-fi body horror at my end. Don't worry though, it's not that graphic lol. (I could write graphic but then I would probably flinch with every word lmfao, I am quite squeamish).
This also made me realise I haven't consumed a lot of media with murderous plants outside of the TV series remake of Day of the Triffids...and I was kinda on the plants' side at the start of that. (Extra funny story for this is that my dad always mentioned it as the movie he saw at the cinema in '62 that TERRIFIED him which is hard to imagine now when looking back at it)

🚀 AOTD: I...honestly don't know. A door where it doesn't belong, stairs where there shouldn't be any? Yeah those I am stepping away from. But a garden, the beauty of nature? I don't know if my instincts would kick in the same lol. Though maybe having no written this, they would, as I don't feel like becoming plant food!

🚀 As always, don't forget to check out @fendassor and @warlockofthefirs 's stories too! 😁

🚀Stay weird, chooms, and hopefully I'll be around a bit more this week! by @codeborne_knight

📡 Hey chooms!

⁉️QOTD: Do you play board games? Do you have a favourite?

🚀 I love co-op board games SO MUCH, and am always on the lookout for new ones even if I don't get to play them all that often, especially if they tell a story as they go. Current fav probably still is Mansions of Madness especially with being able to play the community created scenarios (and implementing a couple of house rules lol).

🚀 Today's prompt is 'Poison garden' and I bring you a little folktale from a world @warlockofthefirs and I have been working on together. I'm not sure how well my story fits the prompt lol, but hey, rules are there to be broken lol.

🚀 On an unrelated note I finished making Leo's advent calendar for this year and I can't wait for him to open it all 👀 Do you guys get advent calendars for the holidays or did you leave that tradition in childhood? I just think it's a fun reason to have something nice every day for a bit haha by @codeborne_knight

📡 Hey chooms!

⁉️QOTD: What's a food you can eat and never get sick of?

🚀 Pasta for me! I swear it's in my genes as my mum is like, three quarters Italian haha. But seriously pasta is not only something I could eat every day without complaining, it's also a food I suddenly crave when I don't have it in too long lol

🚀 The promp for today's microfic is Heretic, and I bring you a piece inspired by a project I have had sitting on the back burner for....yikes idek how long lol. It's one I have always had vivid vibes and striking images for stuck in my head but only the vaguest idea of a plot so I know how much work it will take to build into something cohesive lol

🚀 Anyway, hope ya'll enjoy it! by @codeborne_knight
