My own Chinese-style garlic noodles.

As an unemployed guy now, I consider my own noodle restaurant as I love cooking noodles, but I don't know how to open up a restaurant, let alone start a business, and I am worried that my noodles would taste like crap for other people while it only appeals to my own taste buds.

Had to walk all the way home from Aurora Boulevard to Marikina after getting stuck in traffic for hours that I got off the jeepney and decided to walk until I reached the Marikina Market where I would hail another jeepney or a minibus home, but even there at the Marikina Market, all the passing jeepneys and minibuses were packed to the brim as if people are so desperate to go home, so I had to walk all the way home until my legs were so damn tired from walking from Aurora Boulevard to my home in Marikina.

If this is how life in the Philippines will continue while Filipinos only give a shit about being represented and shown in Hollywood, Disney, and Western and foreign media, then I am mighty damn proud that I watched Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning instead of Final Destination: Bloodlines while they were both competing in theaters in May of 2025, because the latter has Filipino stars in it that Filipinos focused on Final Destination instead of the traffic and all the real problems of the Philippines, and since my country cares more about being represented in Hollywood, I care more about my love of John Woo (Woo came into my life through Mission: Impossible 2) and my special interest in secret agents, superspies, and spy cinema over the Philippines' thirst for Western validation, which I don't even care about because it makes me cringe at how that's all Filipinos give a fuck about while the country is struggling.

When I can go back to Hong Kong, don't expect me to be friendly and nice to the other Filipino tourists there and the OFWs working as Cast Members at Hong Kong Disneyland, because I am not going to HK to seek out the Filipino community there, but to celebrate my love of the Hong Kong heroic bloodshed cinema of John Woo, Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, and the animation and magic of Walt Disney, and going to Disney and spending time with my comfort character of Daisy Duck, who welcomed me on both Main Street and in the lobby of Disney's Hollywood Hotel like Charon from John Wick, is my lemonade and therapy when life here in the Philippines gives me lemons, shit, and hell.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Tung.

Thank you for greenlighting Hong Kong Disneyland following the 1997 handover. Because you agreed with Disney to build a Disney park in Hong Kong, you are responsible for turning me into one of the biggest Disney adults in the world and also for preventing me from committing suicide and making Daisy Duck my number-one favourite Disney character, as it was Mrs. Duck who hosted my first Disney trip to Hong Kong Disneyland and treated me like I'm John Wick and she's Charon when I entered the "Disney Continental". If it weren't for your decision to build a Disney park in Hong Kong, I wouldn't have been given the opportunity to "ride the mouse to the magic house" as an eight-year-old lad and meet Daisy Duck. This trip I took to Hong Kong Disneyland as an eight-year-old boy forever cemented Disney as my ultimate therapy and lemonade when life gives me lemons and mental breakdowns, and Disney continued to bring me joy during the darkest days and years of my childhood and even during my struggles in my work life as an adult now.

Thank you for this therapy of Disney magic, Mr. Tung, but most of all, thank you to Hong Kong for giving the world gun fu, heroic bloodshed cinema, and John Woo, who showed me a Christianity out of the "Falwell box" through his personal Christian faith and the Christian symbolism and imagery of his films that he gave me the permission to get rid of Christian fundamentalism while staying Christian and without becoming atheist. by @codename1197

Farewell, Gramps. Thank you for all the adventures we had together ever since I was a child, but most of all, thank you for taking me to Hong Kong and Hong Kong Disneyland at the age of eight. That trip wasn't only special to me because it was ny first overseas trip, but because my favorite filmmaker who had the biggest impact of my cinematic and religious/spiritua life, John Woo, is from Hong Kong, and not only did he thrill me with his gun fu, but also showed me a Christianity that is not Falwellian and fundamentalist. Besides that, because you took me to Hong Kong Disneyland, and Daisy Duck was my hostess as she was the first Disney character I met on Main Street and then at the lobby of Disney's Hollywood Hotel when we checked in, as if she's Lance Reddick and I am Keanu Reeves in John Wick, Daisy Duck is my favorite Disney character and that moment when Daisy greeted me twice in HKDL is one of the memories I think about whenever I am feeling sad and depressed. Thank you also for giving me my taste buds for Japanese cuisine that I enjoy eating Japanese food and am rarely picky with food whenever I go to Japan or eat at a Japanese restaurant. I am sorry also for the times I took your kindness for granted. It's not that I didn't appreciate your kindness, but my extended family also had other plans for me that conflicted with yours. Anyway, thank you again for all the good times we had together, and I hope to see you again in the other side. by @codename1197
