🌎 I had a blast this weekend in Lyon spending time with friends, trying out games and meeting other hobbyists! My little captain got a bronze medal in the standard category! This feels huge to me! I got some nice feedback from the juges and am already looking forward to put it into practice.

🇫🇷 Weekend génial passé à Lyon entre retrouvailles avec des amis de longue date, une tonne de jeux testé et de belles rencontres avec d'autres peintres ! Ma petite capitaine a reçu une médaille de bronze dans la catégorie standard, ça me paraît énorme ! 🌎 (🇫🇷👇) First miniature I painted as a birthday gift! Bit anxious to be honest haha. This is for my nephew's sixth birthday tommorow I hope he'll like it 🤞. Big thanks to @shadesofbreeze for her advice and helpful references

It's been one year and two months since I started sharing (mostly green and yellow) silly miniatures here. I feel like I improved quite a bit but at the same time it's become harder to paint and finish miniatures. When I started I painting two years ago I was in a very bad place mental health wise and while I'm doing a bit better I still have a lot of ups and down.
I'll be taking a break as I'll be hiking and visiting friends soon but I also think I need to re consider my approach to painting as a whole. Trying to become a commission painter has been an utter disaster so far and trying to carve a niche here has proved a little hard with my still very average (putting it kindly) painting skills. I need to figure things out.

Here's a little breakdown of how I tackle ork skin! The painboy is a pretty incredible sculpt, those muscles make super interesting shapes to paint!
