I had the privilege of editing “The M-Factor 2” alongside my brother @treblebeach.

The film focuses on perimenopause education, awareness, and informed decision-making around care.

Oil on magazine

Created in Bozeman, MT at @theblackbirdresidency

I feel like I'm always looking for resilience, acts and moments that help me believe in something more.

In my film work, when making documentaries, I witness resilience all of the time. In Parkland FL, I witnessed, in the wake of a school shooting, a community who sought ways to
heal. parents who had lost children dedicated themselves to
preventing gun violence, while children who had lost friends learned to
find hope again. I spent time documenting Carmen Cicero, a
99- year-old painter who lost all his work in a fire at the height of his
career yet never stopped creating, finding inspiration in the simple
beauty of being alive.

Arriving in Bozeman, I felt these familiar things. Nicole, inspired by the
embrace of the mountains, found her own healing through writing,
which led her to establish The Blackbird Residency. I watched Jase, a dear friend of Nicole’s, make delicious thoughtful, elaborate dinners for herself ( and me) every night and it reminded me that transformation can be as simple as caring for oneself. And Anastasia, who started a flower farm in memory of someone dear to her, found strength in cultivating new life.

During my residency, I was fortunate to spend time with these women. Each showing me new ways of thinking and feeling, and giving me a little inspiration and hope I needed to create.

So this bull reminds me of that: Hope, strength, and resilience. by @codibarbini

When I'm painting these, I try not to think too much, I'm really trying to move from thinking to feeling and to allow my intuition to guide me. To me this one feels optimistic. I think it's the orange which always makes me feel energized and calm.

I created this work at @blackbirdresidency in Montana. And I'm just getting around to posting all of them.

There’s something uniquely beautiful about creating work during a residency. It has a clear beginning and end, so the work becomes a record not just of the making, but of time. Whats important to me, is allowing the work to carry the vulnerability that comes with not having all the answers.

The bull came into my work as a stand-in for the beast, something untamable. I constantly panted the bull. It became an obsession, a ritual, a way for me to process and release the things I was going through at the time. Things I couldn't control.

The beauty here to me is in gesture, in the forward motion. The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.

And slowly I began to love the beast. by @codibarbini

My dad interviewed me recently and asked me what one of my earliest art memories was.

And it was with him. I must have been 5 and we were sitting together at the kitchen table painting. I'm not sure exactly how it came up, but I'm sure I was frustrated at a mistake I felt I made. He said to me the mistakes are what make the painting.

This is something I think about a lot when I'm working. Embracing the things I didn't mean to do and allowing the painting to be what it wants to be. by @codibarbini

Bleeding hearts. I love seeing them on the Forrest floor in the spring, beneath ferns and pine trees. Their symbolism varies, from passion to heartbreak, but it really reminds me to wear my heart on my sleeve by @codibarbini

Working on documenting more of the process of my work. Often I'm painting with oil sticks, and my hands. Working intuitively and emotionally, and trying to think the least. by @codibarbini

In your arms, 2026

I made this painting after a friend and fellow artist Trevor King, made me an incredible sculpture in beautiful orange, yellow, pink and greens.

Trevor and I had been wanting to trade work for years and earlier this year, after almost 6 months traveling I was settling down again in Los Angeles, so I decided to reach out to him to start the trade.

We chatted about the trade. He wanted a work on magazine I made in yellows and browns, and he was going to make something specifically for this.

A few months passed and I was going through a rough emotional period, and I felt really hopeless.

Trevor let me know the sculpture was finished and sent me pictures.

The sculpture is a hand clasped around a flower. It's thick and stable in oranges, pink, yellow and green.

I felt like it was the hand of the universe offering me a little hope. Offering me a little beauty in a hard time. Trevor didn't know I was going through a hard time. He just made something beautiful, and hopeful and inspired as he always does.

This interaction reminded me of the power of art. I had somehow forgotten the whole point is to connect, to be inspired, to feel hope. When I look at it now, I feel less alone.

This painting, in your arms, was inspired by this.
