2026 is about bringing clarity and the nouns that met me where I was at in 2025. If only there was photos of it all… by @cody.braudt

Woah! 15 years ago, some amazing artists joined me on an unexpected adventure in a hot & sweaty barn. Piecing together this production of Party Worth Crashing is such a vivid memory. @kaitkerrigan and @breelowdermilk wrote the soundtrack to that summer and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. So grateful for the crazy time we had and the people who believed the “kids could put on a show”. by @cody.braudt

Let us pause in life’s pleasures and count its many tears,
While we all sup sorrow with the poor.
There’s a song that will linger forever in our ears,
Oh, hard times, come again no more. Forever proud to have witnessed your magic. ❤️ by @cody.braudt

In the spring of 1999, “Drop Dead Gorgeous” wrapped filming in a defunct Schneiderman’s Furniture store located in Downtown Chaska, MN. After an extensive summer installing mirrors, building walls, and sliding together a Pergo floor; River Valley Dance Academy was born from the heart of my mother Jocelyn Braudt and her teaching companion at Richfield Parks & Recreation, Amy Jensen.

My Mom and Amy challenged the status quo of studio models. My Mom made studio spaces more inclusive, forging the early shape of adaptive dance programs in the mid 80s; becoming a recommended activity by local physical therapists because of the benefits her programming offered.

25 years later, I can say with confidence that they blazed a trail that will reverberate for years to come.

Today we celebrate as Amanda takes the reins for the next generation. I have full confidence she’ll do us all proud. You know the work is important when those whose lives have been shaped by it want to continue carrying the torch.

I’ll forever be grateful for what the studio has taught me; but most of all I bask in the truest example my parents have set: never compromising their values while providing grace to others even when the rest of the world wouldn’t or didn’t; never expecting the same grace or admiration in return. They did it out of love. That’s a mission to celebrate.

Congratulations, Mom & Dad. Well done. by @cody.braudt
