Behind the scenes with DP Cody Preston (@codywpreston) on the feature documentary Forward, presented by @supernaturalbc & directed by Nic Collar (@niccollarfilm).

Shot across the landscapes of British Columbia, Forward follows Clay March — a young man with cerebral palsy — alongside his triplet brother Tanner and a community of adaptive athletes as they push the limits of adventure through skiing, surfing, and the outdoors, defying expectations and redefining what inclusion truly means.

“In the early stages of pre-production, I knew right away it had to be shot on RED. We needed cameras that were light and versatile—something that could be thrown into a backpack at a moment’s notice—but also tough enough to withstand the roughest conditions while still performing flawlessly. The high frame rates on the V-RAPTOR were essential for our adaptive sports story. We also used the V-RAPTOR S35 when working with longer lenses to gain extra reach when shooting subjects skiing or surfing from a distance.”

In the spring we wrapped a very special project. 25+ days chasing snow and surf across BC for a feature documentary with @supernaturalbc celebrating adaptive sports.
