I write this with a broken heart, my sister Veronica Gil (Left side) has passed today. My sister was the CEO of my life. She was a father figure for me (iykyk) I would always confide in her with life decisions. I was 14 when she took me under her wing, which change the trajectory of my life for the better. The path she put me on led me to meet my life partner and son. My sister introduced me to traveling, new cultures, and different ways of thinking. She would always encourage me to be the best version of myself. Veronica helped create the man I am today and I made sure she knew that before her passing.

Sister I know what you wanted me to accomplish for my small family, and how you wanted me to live the rest of my days. I’ll do so in your honor. I will always cherish the memories of our family trips and late night talks. I love you sissy and I will see you on the other side. May your soul rest. by @coffeejcup

I don’t usually post back-to-back, but I feel this needs to be said: I won’t waste energy on offensive posts. The Kendama community is built on positivity and inclusion. Let’s keep it that way—spread love, not hate.

Lately, I’ve been in a bit of a slump because of AI art. For a while, I wondered, what’s the point of creating art if I can just write a prompt? But then I realized that AI isn’t a replacement—it’s a tool, and there’s something uniquely beautiful about human mistakes.

That doesn’t mean I hate AI. I see it as a tool that can help us move forward. It’s here to stay, and instead of resisting it, we might as well use it to our advantage.

I also want to give a shoutout to all my fellow artists who keep pushing forward and haven’t let “Skynet” discourage them. You’re my inspiration to keep creating.

I’m feeling better now, and I’ve got a bunch of artwork in the pipeline. #procreate #procreateart #kendama #bayareaart #bayareaartist by @coffeejcup
