World of Coffee San Diego było niezapomnianym doświadczeniem.

Wspaniali ludzie, świetna wymiana myśli i doświadczeń, a wszystko opatrzone wspaniałym kalifornijskim klimatem.

My bez laptopów, jak wzorowi goście. Za to z „to jeszcze po jednym?”. Gratulację CoffeeDesk za nowy adres! taken in Nowy Świat by @coffeeonair

After my lectures in Copenhagen🇩🇰, Dubai 🇦🇪 and Houston🇺🇸– it was time for Geneva🇨🇭 But this time, not only the lectures… also a 4-hour workshop!

What a rewarding experience — 16 amazing people from Geneva to Mexico and Seattle, from coffee farmers to ex-financiers, from 20 to 70 years old. All driven by the same passion: to grow their coffee businesses.

Thank you for the energy and dedication. Can’t wait for what’s next — announcement coming soon!

Just one week to go — on June 27th, I invite you to attend the “Coffee” workshop, which will take place as part of World of Coffee in Geneva.

This workshop is an expansion of my earlier lecture series “Coffee Consolidations”, which I presented last year at World of Coffee in Copenhagen, and this year in Dubai and Houston.

If you’re interested, feel free to register via the link on the World of Coffee website.

After Dubai and Copenhagen, this time I had the pleasure of presenting my lecture “Coffee Consolidations” at the Specialty Coffee Expo 2025 in Houston. The audience truly surprised me — every seat was taken (over 100), and some attendees even had to sit on the floor. The crowd came not only from across the US, but also from Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.

An hour is hardly enough to cover the topic, so once again, there was a long line of questions after the session, followed by another hour of conversations in the hallway.

Since one hour isn’t enough, I’m already inviting everyone to Geneva for World of Coffee 2025, where “Coffee Consolidations” will evolve into a 2.5-hour workshop, allowing us to dive deeper into various case studies.

Thank you for the warm welcome in Houston — I’m already looking forward to Geneva.

See you soon!

Post scriptum:

Additionally, I’m truly impressed by Houston — a very clean, well-kept, green, and peaceful city. You’d never guess it’s the fourth largest city in the US by population.

- o sporach z wychowawczynią i regulaminach szkolnych
- o prawnikach, którzy do upadłego walczą o literę prawa

LINK do odcinka tradycyjnie wrzucam w BIO. Zapiszcie go sobie na później, bo to długa rozmowa.

How Can Small Coffee Businesses Succeed in a Market Dominated by Giants?

The global coffee industry is rapidly consolidating. Major players are shaping the market through aggressive M&A, strategic investments, and technological innovation. But what does this mean for independent coffee businesses?

✅ Who are the key players?

Companies like Nestlé, JAB HOLDING, Lavazza, Coca-Cola have been reshaping the industry through acquisitions, investing in specialty brands, and controlling distribution networks.

✅ What are their strategies?

From JAB Holdings’ expansion through Peet’s Coffee to Nestlé’s acquisition of Blue Bottle Coffee, big players are using scale, technology, and branding power to dominate the market.

❓ How can small and medium-sized coffee businesses adapt?

This was the key question I explored in my refined workshop at World of Coffee Dubai 2025, building on insights from my lecture at WoC Copenhagen 2024.

💡 Bridging the Gap: Adapting Big Strategies for Local Markets
Through hands-on case studies, we examined how SMEs can leverage M&A strategies, venture capital, and tech-driven growth without losing brand identity. We explored a potential examples of local coffee businesses that successfully scaled despite industry consolidation.

📢 If you’re navigating these challenges in your coffee business, what strategies have worked for you? Let’s continue the conversation!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since the whirlwind of events began at World of Coffee 2024 in Copenhagen. Having participated in numerous industry gatherings, I can confidently say there’s nothing quite like WoC. Imagine a dynamic blend of fairs, workshops, lectures, and competitions all under one roof, spanning just three days. Thousands of visitors, hundreds of exhibitors from across the globe — from coffee farmers to equipment producers, world-class roasters and baristas.

This year was especially memorable for me for two significant reasons.

Firstly, I had the honor of presenting a lecture for the first time. The topic, „Coffee Consolidation: Smart Strategies for Small Companies to Scale Up,” drew a full house of almost 100 attendees. The lively Q&A session that followed lasted well over an hour, affirming the relevance and interest in the topic among industry professionals.

Secondly, witnessing @m.derkacz’s journey from a barista at @etnocafe to becoming the Vice World Champion in Coffee Roasting was truly inspiring. Matetusz now joins a proud cohort of Polish World Champions/Medalists, including @agarojewska (World Barista Champion 2018, World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion 2022, 3rd World Latte Art 2017), @marcin_makiato (Vice World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion 2013), @math.karczewski (3rd World Coffee Roasting 2019) and Norwegian, but based in Poland @audun_coffee (World Champion Coffee Roasting 2015).

Reflecting on these experiences, it’s clear that World of Coffee not only celebrates excellence, but also fosters invaluable connections and insights that propel our industry forward.

Last but not least - thank you @filipbartelak for our long talks and coincidental meetings :) taken in Copenhagen, Denmark by @coffeeonair

When in April 2022, I exited @etnocafe I started immediately my journey at https://www.harbourclub.vip . Before that, I had been following @harbour.jeremy for a couple of years, but I could not imagine how incredible the community HC is.

Since then I have had a chance to:
- participate in DealFest (2x Dubai 2023, 1x Boston 2022),
- run the Accountability Group for some of our new members,
- create many connections with the members from all over the world,
- and last but not least to do some deals.

After that, I was asked to present my professional journey at DealFest in London. I was thrilled to show it to over 120 delegates from the UK and other countries.

I talked about:
- Polish economy rooted in the communist time,
- 12 years I spent in taxes,
- another 12 years in the coffee industry,
- and also many years in the deals (M&A’s) and entrepreneurship world.

Thank you Gina Quelha McAvoy, Monty Elsabbagh, Jon Hartley, Wayne Tan, Corey Isbell for your cooperation and your support.

Thank you Tina Bradley John F Kettley Andy G Hooper Callum Laing David Green Ashley Johnson for sharing the stage 🙂

Thank you Jeremy for your incredible job that brought us here 🙂 taken in London, Unιted Kingdom by @coffeeonair
