Welcome to Cojo.ko 👋

My name is Courtney Koch and I am an avid lifelong traveler and a professional photographer. As kids, my parents took us on grand road trips from coast to coast, and I would delight in taking numerous rolls of film to document our adventures. Back then waiting for film to be developed was a real practice in patience, but the joy of an envelope full of cherished memories was always worth the wait. I followed my passion and founded my own photography business in 2015. In 2019 I left the industry after realizing most professional requests no longer inspired me artistically. During this time, I built a sports performance business and used my experience in photography to build, market and further my brands. The switch was a welcomed breath of fresh air and has been a road well-traveled in its own right. 🙌

I think all artists feel called to their work. There is a side to me that needs to create, and I don’t think that part of me will ever die. I feel that same calling to the road and for faraway lands. Cojo.ko is my chance to create the art I love, travel and share all of that with you along the way. Enjoy! 😌

The perfect Mother-Daughter Date in Houston, TX ❤️

Inside @republicboot1836 in Houston Heights lives a Hat Bar by @bunnydolldesigns, and with Mother’s Day right around the corner, this experience stands out as one our most memorable on the road 👢

@bunnydolldesigns was born from Alexa’s love for her mom, who passed away in 2019. Her mom was a creative force and had begun teaching herself the art of jewelry making. Alexa picked up where she left off, fell in love with the craft, and BunnyDoll Desgins was born. A tribute, a continuation, and when you meet Alexa + hear her story, you can feel her mother’s legacy passed down.

@peyton.koch and I laughed a lot, made new friends and left with hats we treasure!

With Mother’s Day coming up, this kind of creative quality time feels like the perfect gift idea ❤️

Spring Bucket List Trips 🌸🌷

The sun is out, weather is warming and these trips are on my mind:

1.) Cappadocia, Turkey: Fairy chimneys dusted in wildflowers, hot air balloons over the valley at sunrise….plus cave hotels ❤️

2.) Antelope Canyon: The light beams are strongest in the spring ☀️

3.) Provence, France: I’m planning on turning some of my acreage into a small Lavender farm so the lavender fields of France have been calling my name.

4.) Morocco: Something about The Blue City and mountain air screams spring to me. Couple that with the vastness of the Sahara and my heart is set on it!

5.) Texas Hill Country Roadtrip: Bluebonnets everywhere, winding backroads and small town stops.

The Mist Trail is one of my favorite family friendly hikes in @yosemitenps!

It’s a classic so it starts busy, but keep going and you’ll be rewarded with some quiet.

At 7 Miles round-trip and straight uphill, it’s challenging enough to feel like a real adventure, but still do-able with kids. Rushing waterfalls, constant mist and surprise rainbows kept everyone engaged the whole way up.

Don’t get me wrong, it was hard for them at the time, but they felt so accomplished and rewarded at the top. Plus, the top has the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the view for awhile before heading back down.

Our last night in Costa Rica: A beautiful sunset, my last Mirinda Piña soda, TV flickering, and stumbling across Elderbrook’s “Something About You” for the first time.
