I think one of Manchester United’s biggest problems right now is the unrealistic expectations from the fans. They are expecting too much, too soon.
Look at Arsenal it took them years to rebuild under Mikel Arteta. Imagine if Arsenal had lost patience with Arteta during the difficult periods; they probably wouldn’t be where they are today.
For me, Michael Carrick is the best option for Manchester United right now. He is still in the early stages of rebuilding the team, and rebuilding a football club of this size takes time. Stability cannot be created overnight.

At this stage, Manchester United should not be talking about winning the Premier League immediately. A realistic target for Carrick should be getting the club back into the top four, building a strong system, improving the squad and creating consistency.
The fans need patience. Give Carrick the time, backing and players he needs. Arsenal trusted the process with Arteta, and Manchester United may have to do the same if they want long-term success. by @cokersam_win

ARSENAL “MARRY” CHELSEA ONCE AGAIN!

Arsenal 2–1 Chelsea Match Analysis

Arsenal have done it again. Chelsea made a dream start at the Emirates, but Arsenal showed why they are defending Premier League champions, coming from behind to win 2–1 and extend their unbeaten run against Chelsea to 12 matches in all competitions.

Chelsea started like a team ready for revenge

Morgan Rogers shocked the Emirates after only 77 seconds, volleying Chelsea ahead from the second phase of a Reece James free-kick. Chelsea played with speed and aggression early on, and Pedro Neto even hit the post later in the first half.

But Chelsea couldn't turn that fast start into control.

 Havertz punished his former club

Kai Havertz was Arsenal's key man. He equalised in the 25th minute, moving from the right into shooting space before beating Emiliano Martínez.

His contribution to the winner was arguably even better. Havertz intelligently allowed Christos Tzolis' pass to run through him, opening the space for Martin Ødegaard to arrive and finish Arsenal's second goal five minutes after half-time.

Havertz finished with 10 touches in Chelsea's box, three shots and three

Ødegaard is looking dangerous again

Ødegaard has now scored three goals in four appearances in all competitions this season*l, after scoring only once in 36 appearances last season.

His timing for the winning goal was excellent. Rather than remaining outside the box, he attacked the space behind Chelsea's midfield and arrived exactly when Tzolis delivered the ball.

Chelsea's biggest problem: defending

Chelsea were dangerous when attacking, but once Arsenal increased the pressure, their defence started looking uncomfortable.

Arsenal generated around 2.1 expected goals compared with roughly 0.3 for Chelsea, showing how much more consistently Arsenal created dangerous opportunities. Chelsea have also now gone 19 Premier League matches without a clean sheet.

Emiliano Martínez also had an uncomfortable afternoon, particularly dealing with Arsenal's crosses and Havertz's equaliser.

Raya saved Arsenal at the end

Chelsea still had one huge opportunity to rescue the match. In the 89th minute, Estêvão by @cokersam_win

WHO CAN STOP BARCELONA?

Valencia 0–5 Barcelona Match Analysis

Barcelona sent another huge warning to La Liga with a 5–0 demolition of Valencia at Mestalla. Winning by five goals is impressive anywhere, but doing it away from home with this level of control makes the result even more frightening for their rivals.

Lamine Yamal was devastating, scoring twice, while Fermín López, Raphinha and Pedri also found the net. Fermín was particularly influential, contributing a goal and two assists as Barcelona constantly found spaces between Valencia’s midfield and defensive lines.

Barcelona completely controlled the match

The biggest difference was how quickly Barcelona moved the ball. Valencia struggled to get close enough to press them. Barcelona repeatedly created overloads in midfield before releasing Yamal and the other attackers into dangerous one-on-one situations.

The numbers underline the domination: Barcelona reportedly finished with 19 attempts compared with only three from Valencia. This wasn't a game where Barcelona simply converted every chance—they controlled territory, possession and attacking opportunities for long periods.

Yamal is becoming almost impossible to contain

When Yamal receives the ball isolated against a defender, Barcelona immediately look dangerous. He can attack outside, cut inside, combine with midfielders or shoot himself.

Two goals against Valencia only tell part of the story. His movement repeatedly forced Valencia's defence backwards and created additional space for Barcelona's midfield runners.

Fermín López gives Barcelona something different

Fermín's biggest weapon is his movement without the ball. While defenders are watching Yamal and Raphinha, Fermín attacks the spaces they leave behind.

Against Valencia, that movement was devastating. His one goal and two assists made him one of the major reasons Valencia simply couldn't control Barcelona's attacks.

 Barcelona's depth is becoming scary

Barcelona were already comfortably ahead, yet they could still introduce players such as Dani Olmo and new signing Gabriel Jesus. Olmo reportedly produced two assists after coming on, while Jesus made his Barcelona by @cokersam_win

ANOTHER DEFEAT FOR PSG — WHAT IS GOING WRONG IN PARIS?

PSG 1–2 MONACO

Another match, another disappointing result for Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Enrique’s side took the lead through Marquinhos in the 31st minute, but Monaco completely changed the story after the break. Flávio Nazinho equalised in the 58th minute before Stanis Idumbo struck the winner in the

The result is even more worrying because PSG actually dominated most of the match.

📊THE NUMBERS ARE SHOCKING

PSG had:
• 68.2% possession
• 23 shots
• **10 shots on target
• 687 ompleted passes
• 6 corners

Monaco had:
• 31.8% possession**
• Only 4 shots**
• Only 2 shots on target
• 0 corners

Yet Monaco won 2–1. ([L'Équipe][2])

SO WHAT WENT WRONG?

1. PSG DOMINATED WITHOUT KILLING THE GAME

This was the biggest problem. PSG created more than enough opportunities to put Monaco away. Monaco goalkeeper Lukáš Hradecký made nine saves, including a superb late stop against Ousmane Dembélé. When you have 23 shots and only score once, the problem is no longer simply chance creation — it is finishing.

2. PSG'S DEFENCE LOOKS TOO EASY TO ATTACK

Monaco needed only two shots on target to score twice.

That is extremely worrying.

PSG can dominate possession for long periods, but once opponents escape their press, there is too much space available. After three Ligue 1 matches, PSG had already conceded six goals, with their vulnerability in defensive transitions becoming increasingly obvious.

3. MONACO WERE BRUTALLY EFFICIENT

Filipe Luís deserves huge credit. Monaco did not try to beat PSG in a possession battle. They stayed organised, survived PSG’s pressure and punished the moments when Paris lost control.

Four shots. Two on target. Two goals.

That is ruthless football.

Monaco left Paris with their third victory from three Ligue 1 matches, while PSG remained without a league victory.

4. PSG'S ATTACK STILL LOOKS LIKE IT IS SEARCHING FOR ITS IDENTITY

Doué, Kvaratskhelia and Akliouche started, while Ferran Torres, Dembélé and Godts were introduced later. There was plenty of attacking talent on the pitch, but not enough clinical finishing.

MANCHESTER UNITED HELD TO DRAMATIC 2–2 DRAW BY EVERTON

Manchester United will feel they threw away two points after twice taking the lead against Everton but failing to see out the game.

The first half was tight and lacked real quality in the final third. United had more attacking moments, but Everton remained dangerous and the teams went into half-time goalless. Bryan Mbeumo finally broke the deadlock just after the restart, producing an excellent finish in the 47th minute.

Everton gradually increased the pressure, and Tyrique George equalised in the 83rd minute. United responded almost immediately, with substitute Benjamin Šeško heading them back in front in the 88th minute. At that stage, Michael Carrick's side looked set to escape with all three points.

But United's defensive problems appeared again. Instead of controlling possession and killing the game, they allowed Everton one final opportunity. Ainsley Maitland-Niles struck in the 96th minute to make it 2–2 and rescue Everton.

For United, the biggest concern isn't their attack they showed they can create and score but their game management and concentration when protecting a lead. Going ahead twice and still failing to win will frustrate Carrick. Mbeumo continues to look dangerous, while Šeško made an impact from the bench, but United must become much more ruthless defensively if they want to compete near the top.

Manchester City escaped a serious Coventry scare with a narrow 1–0 win at the Etihad. Erling Haaland scored the decisive goal in the 26th minute, but City never fully killed the game off, allowing Coventry to remain dangerous until the end.
MANCHESTER CITY ESCAPE COVENTRY SCARE — 1–0 WIN HIDES THE PROBLEMS

Manchester City collected all three points against Coventry City, but this was far from the dominant performance many expected.

Erling Haaland was once again the difference. In the 26th minute, Enzo Fernández helped start the move before Antoine Semenyo delivered the cross for Haaland to power home the winner with a header. It was Haaland’s third Premier League goal of the season and his 300th senior club goal.

City controlled possession heavily and completed an incredible 803 passes compared with Coventry’s 217, but possession did not translate into enough goals. For a team with City's attacking quality, allowing a newly promoted Coventry side to stay only one goal behind deep into the second half was dangerous.

Coventry deserve huge credit. They stayed organised, defended aggressively and refused to collapse after Haaland’s opener. As the match progressed, they became more confident and forced Gianluigi Donnarumma into important saves. City were eventually protecting the 1–0 lead rather than comfortably hunting for a second or third goal.

 Enzo Fernández Impresses

One major positive for City was Enzo Fernández. Thrown into the starting XI after Nico O’Reilly suffered an injury during the warm-up, Fernández looked composed and immediately brought creativity to City's midfield. His combination play with Rayan Cherki was one of City's biggest attacking weapons.
 Haaland Saves City Again

When Manchester City needed somebody to produce the decisive moment, Haaland delivered. But City cannot depend on one Haaland goal every week.

Against stronger opponents, failing to finish chances and allowing the opposition to remain alive until the final whistle could become costly.

FULL TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 1–0 COVENTRY CITY

Three matches. Three Premier League victories. Nine points.

But this was less about City destroying Coventry and by @cokersam_win

ALEXANDER ISAK TAKES LIVERPOOL BACK TO WINNING WAYS!

Liverpool finally collected their first Premier League victory of the season, beating Ipswich Town 2–0 at Portman Road, and Alexander Isak was the difference-maker. The Swedish striker struck twice inside the opening nine minutes, with **Cody Gakpo assisting both goals.

ISAK SHOWS THE FINISHING LIVERPOOL NEEDED

Liverpool came into the match needing a response, and Isak delivered almost immediately. He opened the scoring in the 6th minute before striking again just three minutes later. His movement, positioning and composure were exactly what Liverpool had been missing when trying to break teams down.

Gakpo also deserves huge credit. His direct running and quick combinations created both goals, and the Isak–Gakpo partnership caused Ipswich serious problems whenever Liverpool attacked quickly.

RUTHLESS RATHER THAN DOMINANT

The scoreline suggests a comfortable Liverpool performance, but the numbers tell a more interesting story. Liverpool had 55% possession and seven shots on target compared with Ipswich's five, while ESPN's xG figures actually had Ipswich slightly ahead, 0.73 to 0.66 That shows how important Isak's clinical finishing was. Liverpool didn't create endless chances—they simply punished Ipswich when the opportunities arrived.

After going 2–0 ahead, Liverpool became more controlled. Ipswich improved and applied some late pressure, but Liverpool protected the lead and secured an important clean sheet

BIGGEST POSITIVE: ISAK LOOKS SHARP AGAIN

This was the type of performance Liverpool expected when they invested heavily in Isak. Two goals, intelligent movement and ruthless finishing. If Liverpool can consistently supply him with chances, he has the quality to become one of the Premier League's leading scorers.

The victory also gives Andoni Iraola his first league win as Liverpool manager, moving the Reds onto five points from their opening three matches.

FULL-TIME: IPSWICH 0–2 LIVERPOOL
⚽ Alexander Isak 6'
⚽ Alexander Isak 9'
🎯 Two assists: Cody Gakpo

Verdict:Liverpool were not perfect, but this was a much-needed professional victory. Isak gave them the killer instinct, by @cokersam_win

REAL MADRID FALL! BETIS EXPOSE MOURINHO’S MADRID IN 1–0 SHOCKER

Real Madrid suffered their **first defeat of the LaLiga season, losing 1–0 to Real Betis** at La Cartuja — and this match exposed some serious problems Mourinho must address.

Madrid started with plenty of quality on the pitch, but as the game developed, Betis became increasingly comfortable. Pellegrini’s side stayed compact, stopped Madrid from attacking quickly and forced them into congested central areas. Madrid had the stars, but Betis had the better organisation.

ARDA GÜLER WAS MADRID’S BRIGHTEST SPARK

Güler continually dropped inside, looked for the ball between the lines and tried to connect Madrid’s midfield with the attack. Much of Madrid’s creative play went through him.

But around him, things were not working. Jude Bellingham struggled to influence the game at his usual level, while Valverde and Camavinga provided energy without giving Madrid enough creativity to consistently break Betis down.

MBAPPÉ HAD A NIGHT TO FORGET

This was the biggest difference.

Mbappé had opportunities but could not produce the clinical finishing Madrid needed. After Betis substitute Troy Parrott scored in the 81st minute following a Courtois rebound, Mbappé hit the crossbar.

Madrid thought they had equalised through a brilliant Carlos Espí bicycle kick, only for VAR to rule it out for a very tight offside.

Then came Madrid’s golden opportunity in stoppage time.

Vinícius won a penalty.

Mbappé stepped forward.

Álvaro Vallés saved it.

Game over. Betis 1–0 Real Madrid.

MOURINHO ALSO HAS QUESTIONS TO ANSWER

Madrid looked physical in midfield, but they lacked control. Leaving Bernardo Silva out of the starting XI meant Madrid had less of a natural organiser when Betis closed the spaces.

When Mourinho eventually turned to his bench, Madrid became more desperate rather than more controlled. Their second-half football increasingly became rushed and disconnected.

THE BIG WARNING FOR REAL MADRID

This defeat should worry Madrid more because Betis showed other teams a possible blueprint:

Keep Madrid from counterattacking.

Crowd the middle.

Force them to play slowly.

CHELSEA GO RUGBY MODE AHEAD OF ARSENAL SHOWDOWN! 🏉🔵

Chelsea have introduced an unusual rugby-inspired training drill ahead of Sunday’s huge Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Xabi Alonso’s players were spotted at Cobham using large rugby tackle shields and crash pads, with teammates driving into them to simulate the heavy physical contact expected during corners and other set-piece situations.

The reason appears clear: Arsenal’s set pieces are one of their biggest weapons. The Gunners scored a Premier League-high 22 goals from set-piece situations last season, making them extremely dangerous from corners and free-kicks.

Chelsea are therefore preparing for more than just beautiful football — they are preparing for a physical battle inside the penalty area.

With the London rivals meeting at the Emirates on Sunday, 6 September, Alonso looks determined to make sure his players are ready for Arsenal’s strength, movement and aggression from dead-ball situations.

Chelsea are not just training for Arsenal… they are preparing for WAR! by @cokersam_win

LUIS ENRIQUE BREAKS SILENCE ON BARCOLA EXIT!

PSG manager Luis Enrique has opened up on Bradley Barcola’s departure from Paris, insisting the transfer ultimately worked out well for everyone involved.

Speaking about the winger’s development, Enrique praised the huge impact Barcola made during his time at PSG.

🗣️ Luis Enrique: “Barcola grew enormously in Paris, but he also helped the team grow enormously.”

However, the Spanish coach revealed that playing time became the major issue behind Barcola’s decision to leave.

“He wanted more playing time than I could guarantee him.”

Despite losing a talented attacker, Enrique believes there are no losers in the deal, suggesting Barcola now has the opportunity to become an even bigger figure at his new club.

“In the end, I think everyone is a winner with that transfer. I truly wish him all the best.”

Barcola leaves Paris having developed from a promising youngster into one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking talents — but Enrique’s comments suggest PSG were simply unable to promise him the starring role he wanted.

Was PSG right to let Barcola leave, or will this transfer come back to haunt Luis Enrique? by @cokersam_win
