Introducing our next guest on Cold on Contact, Erika Donalds.

Wife of Congressman Byron Donalds, founder of OptimaEd and the Education Freedom Foundation, and a leading advocate for education reform, Erika has dedicated much of her career to expanding educational opportunities for American families.

We sat down to discuss the challenges facing our education system, why so many students continue to struggle with reading and math, and how competition, innovation, and school choice could help reshape education in Florida and potentially set a new standard nationwide.

Our first episode with Erika Donalds is coming soon. Stay tuned. by @coldoncontact

Bomb threats. Death threats. Vehicles driven through vaccination sites. And a healthcare system caught in the middle of a divided nation.

During one of the most polarizing periods in American history, Tina Vidal-Duart found herself on the front lines of Florida’s COVID-19 response.

As fear, frustration, and political division intensified, healthcare workers became targets of hostility simply for showing up to do their jobs.

For Tina, the crisis was deeply personal. While helping coordinate critical healthcare efforts across hospitals and testing sites, she was also navigating the reality of COVID-19 affecting her own husband.

There were moments when walking away seemed like the easier choice.

But she didn’t.

Instead, she continued showing up, protecting her teams, supporting patients, and using her experience to help communities navigate an unprecedented public health crisis.

Because leadership isn’t just about making decisions when things are going well. It’s about having the courage to keep going when everything around you is telling you to stop.

In our final reel from Part 4, Tina reflects on the threats, the division, and the responsibility of leading through a crisis that tested far more than our healthcare system.

Sometimes the greatest measure of leadership isn’t what you accomplish. It’s what you’re willing to endure to make a difference.

Sometimes, the secret to lasting success is simply refusing to give up when things get difficult.

As we approach the final chapter of our series with Tina Vidal-Duart on Cold on Contact, we wanted to share a perspective that goes far beyond marriage.

Whether it’s relationships, business, or life itself, commitment isn’t just about showing up when things are going well. It’s about remembering the bigger picture when things get tough.

As Tina reminds us, sometimes the secret to building something that lasts is simply sticking with it.

Because the strongest bonds aren’t built overnight. They’re built over years of choosing to keep going.

🎙️ Our final conversation with Tina arrives Friday! by @coldoncontact

One of the biggest challenges we face in America today is our unwillingness to reconsider what we believe, even when presented with new information.

Changing your perspective doesn’t mean abandoning your core values. It means being willing to listen, absorb new information, and recognize when your thinking might need to evolve.

That kind of intellectual flexibility is a skill, and one we could all benefit from practicing more often.

Tina Vidal-Duart shares her perspective on this in our latest episode of Cold on Contact.

🎙️ Part 4, our final episode with Tina, drops this week! by @coldoncontact

Healthcare should be about choices, access, and the freedom to make informed decisions.

On Cold on Contact, Tina Vidal Duart reflects on Governor Ron DeSantis’ approach to COVID 19 in Florida and why she believes giving people options was so important.

From vaccinations and testing to treatment options, Tina shares her perspective on why personal choice should remain at the center of healthcare.

Regardless of where you stand politically, it’s a conversation worth having.

Long before COVID tested Florida’s healthcare system, Tina Vidal-Duart had spent more than a decade learning how to keep healthcare organizations alive under pressure.

She was a hospital CEO by 25, helping acquire financially distressed rural hospitals, identify what was broken, turn them around, and ultimately find long-term partners capable of keeping their doors open.

That experience matters.

When COVID arrived, Tina wasn’t approaching healthcare challenges from theory. She had spent years walking into difficult situations, diagnosing complex problems, and figuring out how to make critical systems work when communities depended on them.

Sometimes the experiences that seem unexpected early in a career are exactly what prepare someone for the moment they’re needed most.

One topic keeps coming up on Cold on Contact: Gut Health.

In our conversation with Tina Vidal-Duart, she broke down why the gut can’t be treated as an afterthought, and how antibiotics, diet, environmental exposures, and other factors can disrupt it in ways that may affect the rest of the body.

And unlike a quick fix, rebuilding gut health can take time.

It’s another reminder of a theme we keep hearing from our guests: sometimes improving health means looking beyond the symptom and asking what’s happening upstream.

Why are so many women seeing 9–11 doctors before finally getting the care they need?

Tina Vidal-Duart joins Cold on Contact to talk about a problem she’s seen firsthand: women living with symptoms for years, moving from doctor to doctor, and still struggling to find answers or relief.

She explains how her work in functional and precision medicine has focused on looking deeper and how that approach has expanded beyond women’s health to patients who had gone years without answers.

“If you come from nothing, you have the ability to get an education and change your stars in this country.”

Tina Vidal-Duart reflects on the power of education, opportunity, and what it means to create access for the next generation, especially for young people who may not have the network, connections, or opportunities others are born into.

A powerful perspective on success: once you’ve built something, find a way to open the door for someone else.

“Where did you go to school?”

If you grew up in Miami, Tina Vidal-Duart says that question can mean a lot more than simply where you received your education.

Your answer can immediately put you into a category. Where you grew up. Who you knew. What opportunities people assumed you had.

For Tina, the answer was Miami Southridge Senior High School.

Early in her life, she admits she sometimes felt ashamed to say it. Today, she says it with pride.

In the newest episode of Cold On Contact, we talk about Tina’s upbringing in Miami, the influence those early environments had on her, and how the experiences we once thought separated us can ultimately become some of the most important parts of our story.

Miami didn’t just become the city where Tina built her career. It helped shape who she became.

There’s a difference between wanting the career and loving the work it takes to build it.

Trevor Norris said it perfectly. Make it sustainable. Make it make sense for your life. And if you decide to go all in, make sure you’re doing it because you actually love it.

Great advice for content creation. Probably even better advice for life.

“Most people knew me for being toothless.”

For Trevor Norris, his smile became something much bigger than he ever expected.

As his life changed, social media, meetings, relationships, new opportunities, his smile became part of how he entered the world. Part of his confidence. Part of his first impression. Part of his identity.

Because we carry our smile everywhere: into the rooms that change our careers, the conversations that become relationships, and the photographs that capture our lives.
