The best way to ‘get your spark’ back is burning everything down. You have to reset your life. You have to reset your mind. You have to let go of everything you were, everything you had, every lie you told yourself.
Then, something else can take their place.
Only a few do it. They let go of years and decades, wins and failures, skills and pride- to go somewhere new. It’s hard, but simple. You can restart any time you want. Any time you have the strength. There’s no feeling like it.
Beauty starts with a blank slate. And a blank slate starts with the fiery destruction of your entire existence. Eventually, that inferno turns from pain to warmth. You sit there for a while.
Basking in it. Then, The Idea hits you And you’re never the same again. by @colecreateschange

I've come to believe that there exists in the universe something I call "The Physics of The Quest" — a force of nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity or momentum. And the rule of Quest Physics maybe goes like this: "If you are brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to your bitter old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally), and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared – most of all – to face (and forgive) some very difficult realities about yourself... then truth will not be withheld from you." Or so I've come to believe. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @colecreateschange

This week I had the honor of growing both as an artist and as a leader through the 2024 Creative Placemaking Summit presented by @southartsorg @cpcommunities @cityofatlantaga

✨What is Creative Placemaking✨
Uniting leaders within the arts, nonprofit sector and local governments to create solutions that improve our communities. Showcasing that only through this process can we truly make real, equitable community-driven systemic change.

key learning moments:

1.) How @ryangravel is transforming ATL through the @atlantabeltline proving the power of Creative Placemaking, and in the process transforming ATL into a more accessible & equitable city.

2.) @catchingmangoesdance and their work facilitating community healing through art. Allowing for collective processing of emotions, trauma, and facilitation of community development in the process

3.) Meeting Mama Mae, a community leader in her 80’s rebuilding an abandoned church into a cultural hub and arts venue and preventing gentrification in her home neighborhood. She also held my hand and told me about her time living in Cbus in the 70’s, and it just made my heart smile ❤️

4.) @planatlanta ‘s case studies and workshop on how we can rethink community planning paradigms, which confronted the need to unlearn traditional strategies that stifle innovation and equitable change 👏👏 taken in Woodruff Arts Center by @colecreateschange

// I will still sit down
At 12AM,
When the world is quiet
And I am surrounded by no one
Or at 12PM
When the world is bustling
And I cannot count the amount of faces around me
And feel the same lonely. #urbex #abandoned #urbexphotography #asseenincolumbus #urbexworld by @colecreateschange

I’ve spent the last four days having the honor of attending #cocreate2023 learning about, and experiencing firsthand the most cutting edge innovations in E-commerce💹💻🖌️🎨

@amazingathome and @brandon.young_amazon led a talk about how you can leverage AI in product development, and how it can radically change your business. Here are mock-ups I’ve been able to create in just one day of playing around with this technology in preparation for my startup’s launch🚀

It’s wild that these technologies are just beta versions and in their infancy!🤯 I am thankful to @alibaba.com_official for the opportunity to position myself among industry leaders to be ahead of these trends so that @thegivegoodbox can achieve it’s maximum growth! #socent #ai #impactinvesting #alibaba #ecommerce taken in Resorts World Las Vegas by @colecreateschange

I haven’t shared a lot about recent happenings in my world. I’ve had lots of change at all once. Mostly good things, but all new things.

It’s important that we remember that even good change is hard for the soul.

We aren’t meant to move so fast.

Make sure you have time to slow down, stop and to enjoy the little things.

Hold space for your thoughts to unravel when they need to.

✨Things to help you with change ✨: Make a cup of tea. Play with some chalk. Hug someone a few seconds longer. Rewrite old pain. Listen to a podcast. Make someone else feel good. Order Dessert. Take a cold shower. Host a dinner party. Work out for 30 minutes. Go outside and take your shoes and socks off, AND BREATHE.

It’ll be ok. Here’s some of my little things📸☀️ by @colecreateschange
