Introducing the Birch Girls Series! 🛶 A Contemporary, Women’s Fiction series about a group of women who all stay in the Birch Cabin at Camp Falls Creek in the summer of 2005. We get to see them meet, and then jump to 10 years later to explore how one summer truly can change everything. 🏕️

Available on Amazon and through Kindle Unlimited.

Now that I have two books (almost) out, I thought I’d share a little about the series itself, the two books, and to remind you to read them in order, because each book will build on the next.

Book #3 will be out this winter and Book #4 will follow sometime before summer 2027. I can’t want to continue sharing this story, and sprinkle in some new POVs from some of the other Birch Girls along the way. 🍁

Ever find fear getting in the way of dreams?

Writing and publishing books has forced me to face a lot of fears. Every day is a new challenge. Every new milestone means something unfamiliar. Every success comes on the back of a lot of failure.

And that’s scary.

More and more I’m starting to realize that if I want to pursue my dreams, I have to set fear aside and trust that God is in control.

But dang that is hard some days. 🤍

Reflecting on this season of transition as I learn and “unlearn” a lot after 10 years in the corporate hustle.

I used to define my worth by what coworkers, performance reviews, and feedback forms said about me. I’d stress and stress and stress about being perfect so any inadequacies didn’t reflect back on myself or my work.

Working for myself and taking time to reflect on what is really important in life, as well as recognizing whose opinion of me actually matters, has been big.

I’m slowing down lately. Appreciating the time I have on this earth. Thinking about how to best use it. Looking at how I can best show up for other people while not losing myself in the process.

I cannot wait to see what other changes I notice as the months tick by.

Maybe I’ll go back to corporate America someday. Maybe I’ll stay self-employed forever. All I know is that I’m being shaped and sharpened in new ways and hopefully, whatever I do in the future is better off because of it.

First author event is in the “books”. 🍁Was so honored to be selected as a local author for @mypasque ‘s local ink event during the Brookings Falls Classic.

It was a gorgeous morning with the little bit of South Dakota wind you would expect (my roll up banner did not stay out long)

It was a great first event with a lot of learnings I’m excited to apply to future events.

Hope to see you all Oct 17th at @novel_lattes in Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford Convention center.

My table scape really came together! It’s fun to look at and see all the people that came together to make it happen.

Got to share a table with my new friend @terajean. It was wonderful to visit with her and share this experience together! She is a true joy ✨

What started as a cute lil reel idea quickly turned into an author horror story. 67/75 copies I ordered for my upcoming author events are damaged. 😭

I’ve started the process of getting them re-ordered but unfortunately, I’ll only have 18 (8 from my order and 10 that I already had on hand) for my event in Brookings this weekend 🫠

This was a massive, scary purchase for me as an indie author trying to making a living out of her books. I figured I’d have a few damaged books but 67 is numbing.

I know the good Lord is taking care of me but I think I’m just gonna go have a lil cry about it first.
