Throwback to UPPERROOM End Of Year Conference for one of my favorite moments/parts ever. It is all about being attentive to the worship leader, supporting the band and listening to the Holy Spirit for what to play🫡🫡

a tip to make lead lines + parts in general more interesting — try subtly sliding into some notes instead of picking them straight! this can add kinda the same effect of ghost notes on the drums and is pretty nuanced but complementary at the same time.

Chorus of “Throne Room” from UPPERROOM End of Year Conference. Sometimes ringing out a good strum on a cowboy chord is the best way to support the song / other guitarist. I’ve learned that restraint is key, simplicity is often best, and solely supporting the lead when you are on rhythm is so key! taken in UPPERROOM by @colekellam

fun clip from - you guessed it - Upperroom End of Year Conference!
•
sometimes when repeating a section, it makes sense to keep the part the same. but here it felt like each pass needed more intensity, here’s my attempt to match that feeling with the guitar!

nothin like the tone rolled all the way off🫠
•
moment from Upperroom’s end of year conference - we were transitioning from chorus to the bridge and decided to go into a little interlude. the vibe felt “spacy” but i wanted there to still be some “movement”. this pasty would’ve been way too busy without the tone knob rolled all the way down. let me know what you think! taken in UPPERROOM by @colekellam
