Dear Washington,

Thank you.

My time at UW has been incredibly meaningful. This place challenged me, shaped me, and gave me a community I’ll always be proud to be part of. The standards, the environment, and the people here pushed me to grow both professionally and personally in ways I’ll carry with me forever. We talk a lot about leaving a legacy, and I’m grateful to have had the privilege of contributing to championships and a standard that will continue to define this program—but more than anything, I hope my legacy is found in the impact I had on the individuals who made up this team.

To NVD — thank you for the opportunity, for taking a risk on me, for your trust, and for constantly challenging me to grow in ways I never expected. I’m a better coach because of you, and I’m grateful for the friendship we’ve developed.

To Raph, Kary, Mary, & Tina (& Mitch & Drew!) — thank you for being exceptional coaches but even better friends. The daily work, shared belief, jokes, camaraderie, and joy in the process made this pit stop special.

And to the team, past and present — thank you most of all. As players, you trusted me to help lead you on the field. Your willingness to run through a brick wall for me without a guarantee of what was on the other side never went unnoticed. As people, you invested in me just as much as I invested in you. You welcomed me with open arms, allowed me to be my authentic self daily, and put up with my constant banter—and even better, you always bantered back. For all of this and more, I am forever grateful.

I’ll always cherish the memories, both on and off the field — the ups, the downs, and the in-betweens — but most of all, I’ll cherish the lifelong relationships built here at Washington. Until we meet again…
