Since for a lot of people the album format unfortunately seems to be becoming a lost art, I figured I’d show my support by paying respects to some great records I found at @stereojacks4 earlier today. This record store has been around for 44 years— hopefully it stays around for another 44! #albums #recordstores #bringbackalbums

Synchronicity by The Police - I find myself taking heavy influence from Copeland in a lot of my drum parts, particularly in the more uptempo ones with his ride and bell patterns.

Tapestry by Carole King - This album’s effortless vintage vibe is something that I strive for in both my writing and production. Whenever I’m writing a piano part, this album is top of mind.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix - Hendrix’s rhythm guitar sound is so influential that it’s hard not to hear it in most of today’s guitarists’ playing, including my own. I especially utilize his neck pickup raking and hammer-ons/pull-offs.

Desire by Bob Dylan - Taking lyrical influence from Bob Dylan is not very niche at all, and that is for good reason. While my lyrics tend to be more introspective, the type of storytelling on this album always makes me want to write more narratively.

Is This It by The Strokes - I love the catchy bass in this album, and how the bass parts interacts with the vocal melodies. Super iconic cover art too. taken in Stereo Jack's Records by @colin.born
