I remember during snowpocalypse 2021 in Dallas, watching you complete your application for Texas Tech to go back to school (again) to complete a post masters certification.
I remember watching the first semester fly by pretty easily… I mean, you already had your BSN, MSN, and FNP-C, you just had to complete the coursework.
I remember the second semester was a little tougher. You had to drive to Lubbock once or twice, and you started figuring out how and where you were going to get these clinical hours done… while also working full time.
I remember the third semester started getting rough. All of the sudden those 12 hour days at work were back-to-back with 12 hour days of clinicals. You got through them all, and you had one semester left.
I remember this last semester the most. The long commute to College Station, lots of 12 hour work shifts, 12 hour clinical shifts (and then 12 hour night shifts) back-to-back-to-back-to-back. Car naps, hospital coffee, we got our moneys worth with that sleeping bag.
You had every reason to quit or drop out of the program, and just keep working - but you didn’t. You stayed the course and finished what you started, and getting to see you walk across that stage made it all worth it.
