Today evening at around 7pm my dog Raggles was euthanised at a Vet by Cassiobury park in Watford.

We got Raggles when we moved into our house in Watford, he was a traumatised rescue dog who hated men and motorcycles.

He and I always shared a very special connection, during my younger days in Watford I would take him on record length walks in Cassiobury park with anybody from acquaintances to my closest friends (namely Frankie and his dog Fudge)

During this period which I have lost Raggles it feels like I am losing a lot, I explore the wider feeling of loss in my last poem here. My work as a gardener often leads to working in vast open spaces completely alone, I was in the field at Serge Hill (where I work) when I realised the only auditable noise was that of my wheelbarrow and the wind.

I graduate from my course, leaving my cohort. My two closest friends absent from my life in one way or another, my companion Raggles dying before me.

This is a transient period where I can only choose to move forward, I want to use ceramic as an outlet for this helplessness I feel towards the passage of time.

“Butserware” I recently started a project with @butserancientfarm in which I have begun a series of experimental reproductions of ancient pottery. Here is the first completed pot so far. As well as my main research task I also teach a relaxed pottery class each Thursday (work on second slide) and help around the site. This is my first placement this year and it’s safe to say it’s going well! taken in Butser Ancient Farm by @colinhuxham

Turned up and exhibited in Blackpool with my uncle William Huxham (last pic on the right) not quite what I’m used to as exhibitions go but really glad I could get this experience and sold a few bits !
