Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to photograph for Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean. He was visiting the Viberg boots factory to witness firsthand the craftsmanship involved in making the boots he’d collaborated on. It was truly fascinating to watch these skilled artisans build the boots and to listen to Brett Viberg share the meticulous thought and care that goes into creating shoes designed to last a lifetime.

This time last year, I flew down to LA and witnessed one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen. It was beautiful to see the Gallagher brothers sort out their differences and come back together on stage to play these amazing songs that have meant so much to me and the 200,000 people they played for at the Rose Bowl over two nights.

Bass Coast & CMCT are proud to present The Electric Pow Wow Tour featuring Bass Coast alumni, Shub & Handsome Tiger, live at Lucky Bar in Victoria on Saturday, December 5.

For over a decade, JUNO Award-winning Mohawk artist Shub has been at the forefront of Indigenous electronic music, pioneering the powwow-step sound and blending traditional powwow rhythms with hip-hop, electronic music and heavy bass.

Joining him is Vancouver-based Anishinaabe Métis and North African producer/DJ Handsome Tiger, whose sets fuse Indigenous sounds, bass music, sound system culture and global club influences.

Last night Ivan and I made our way to Vancouver for his first ever stadium show featuring one of my all-time faves @gunsnroses. Highlights include!

1. The Black Crowes. What a stellar opener.
2. Slash!!!
3. Cotton candy!
4. Hearing “Estranged” live, from Use Your Illusion II
5. For the T2 fans - August 29th, 1997 is when Skynet becomes self-aware. I got to hear “You Could Be Mine” on such a significant day!! 😆
6. I love Chinese Democracy and rad to hear some gems from that controversial album
7. Rad to hear some Velvet Revolver
8. It was a late night and Ivan fell asleep 😴 Snuck out at the last few bars of November Rain.
