27:50 → 18:08. Same course. Different runner.

Four years ago, I was just a kid who hadn’t found his sport. Now I’m starting my senior season doing things that version of me wouldn’t believe. A lot of hard days and bad races went into getting here.

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

God gave me the strength to keep going and people who wouldn’t let me settle. Jimmy, you’ve changed my life. Thank you for being the coach who saw it in me first. To my team, thank you for pushing me every day. This sport means everything because of the people in it.

Went from snow and sledding to 80° Arizona trails in the same week. also whoever said it was 8 miles lied. 🏃⛰️🌞

Wrapped up my last XC race of the season with a 2-mile on the track, won my heat out of 31, and dropped almost a full minute with a 10:51. It still blows my mind how far things have come since I first started running. The last six months especially have been insane. It wasn’t just growing into my body ,it was the early mornings where i didn’t want to get up at 6am, the long runs on the Huckleberry, the workouts I didn’t think I’d finish, and just showing up every day.

This has easily been my best season yet. Closing out junior year running an 18:34 5k and cutting over 3 minutes off last year is something I never thought I’d see. There were plenty of highs and lows, but I’m grateful it ended on a high note.

Feeling proud of the work and even more excited for what indoor has in store. On to the next. 🏃‍♂️🔥 by @colinrg27
