Obituary

William (Bill) Horace Ditsler passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by his beloved wife and family. On October 1, a special Celebration of Life, affectionately named “Wildcat William Day,” was held with the residents and caregivers of Famiglia Amore Care Home and family in Tucson, Arizona. An additional celebration of Bill’s life is being planned for his Christmas birthday, with details to be announced at a later date.

Whether capturing precious family moments through his camera lens, sharing his unmistakable humor and laughter, or gathering everyone together over a homemade meal, Bill found his greatest happiness in friends and family. His family was always the center of his world, and the deep, lasting bond he shared with each of them became his most rewarding retirement project and, ultimately, his greatest legacy. He will be remembered for his contributions to astronomy and science and his dedication to the people he loved.

William “Bill” Horace Ditsler, now with his heavenly family and the Lord, will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His laughter, humor, faith, and love will remain with all who knew him.
