RML Architects are excited to share the new addition to the Elbowoods Memorial Health Campus, the Community Health Resource Center. CHRC was designed to support 16 Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation Health Department programs through a combination of administrative, educational, and patient care spaces. A climate-controlled pedestrian skybridge connects the CHRC directly to the existing Elbowoods Memorial Health Center, creating an efficient and convenient connection for patients, providers, and staff between facilities.

The project includes the new stand-alone EMHC Maintenance Facility. This building is designed to support the entire EMHC campus with centralized property storage, vehicle maintenance and staff offices for maintenance personnel throughout the health system. taken in New Town, North Dakota by @collaborative_designgroup

Historic Architecture is in our bones at CDG.

To kick things off this month, we rounded up a few of our favorite Adaptive Reuse projects from the last 25 years. Adaptive Reuse involves reimagining an existing building to introduce a new purpose, blending historic preservation with intentional modernization to vastly extend the building’s lifespan and functionality. These stunning projects showcase how the historic architectural features are preserved and enhanced in these extensive renovation projects.

Giving old buildings new life sustainably keeps our neighborhoods vibrant while respecting local history. As former AIA President Carl Elefant once said, “The greenest building is… one that is already built” 🏛️🌱

Throughout our history at CDG, our approach to workplace design has continued to evolve; especially in how we explore and communicate ideas during the conceptual phase. While the tools and technologies have advanced, the intent has remained the same: to clearly convey design visions using graphic visualization strategies.
