Trees need our help. We are losing them so fast! go find your nearest tree and hug it! quickly. They need to know we care! It's mutually beneficial. Go do it like no one is watching! i'm off to the woods. : )

I went to the woods yesterday. It is such a tonic and antidote to living in a town. The light through the trees is like nothing else in the morning. Every time it calms my mind or brings attention to the changing seasons and the inevitability of change and being ok with that. I loved making this image and I love trees, and walking in the woods, so hopefully you can feel that in this image : )

I'm trying to create a presentation about how creative (analogue) process can alleviate the fear of failure as an illustration student. Without much time I'm finding it hard to get my thoughts together, so the irony was not lost on me that to alleviate my feelings of anxiety I made this! Yayeee! Feeling a bit pooey? go make some art! #neurodivergenttoolkit #neurospicy #illustration #picturebooks #characterdesign by @collage_366

i'm an overthinker, a ruminator and a delve into the depths of my thoughts kind of person. It's exhausting! but the last couple of days, when it's all been going on in my head, I just let go. stopped trying to analyse, to control, and went with the flow. Somehow my brain stopped ruminating and although nothing much has changed, I seem to be a lot happier. It's all a bit strange but i'm liking it and life goes on. So this illo is that. Same shit, different day, different (positive) outlook. : )

...anyone out there find it hard to sleep when you just can't resolve something in your head. My head feels like it's going to explode it's been overworking for days on one thing. I'm exhausted. While also happy I can put these feelings into drawings : )

I thought I'd share all the textures, elements, characters and backgrounds that made up the book My Life As a Rock. It's a lot of work!

I love working with texture and love composing them all into a page that tells a story. The artistry of a book is my passion, and I just love making books.

I made a picturebook about hope in dark times. I'd love more people in the world to see it, because I think it would help open discussion with children and adults.

Currently unpublished, and I can't quite believe that making this book about something so personal, about anxiety and overwhelm, would be so resonant on a global scale.

the artwork is all handmade and then some elements are digitally composed.

It's about a character that is based on a family member and named after my beloved dog Bobo. So it couldn't be more personal.

I feel so proud to be sharing the walls with my parents and my brother esp and my uncles to boot. Celebrating the name I live with and share my own work under also. It's a family affair! : ) by @collage_366

sometimes when i get stuck (tired - out of practise) or tied up in other work, I play with cut outs from my draw. textures left over from jobs. Sometimes I stick bits in a book and other times they are all on the floor and stay there. I step over them reminding me of colour, texture and composition - things that are at the core of my love of making art. This way of working can offer endless possibilities because once you make a big piece you can zoom in or out, making a series of pieces that can become templates for new work, a colour palette you didn't consider before, and oftentimes just a well needed loosening the reigns : ) a reminder that this is you. Maintaining that creative gait, not drifting too far away and so it's not a huge mountain to climb when you're eventually ready to return to the studio and to making : )

what do you do to maintain your connection to creative making?

Hi to everyone in Bologna at the @bolognachildrensbookfair this week. I would be there but taking a year off. It's been a busy year already! So here's my latest book, reviewed by the rocks around @carnbreacastle_restaurant at the glorious Carn Brea. I love rocks and I love Carn Brea. It's a very special place where rocks hold the castle on their backs and the other rocks surrounding. They liked the book and think you should buy a copy! find it online and let me know what you think : ) xxx
