Why is everyone obsessed with Love through a Prism? The Netflix original anime series is everyone’s obsession and yes, its not an innovation or something new story wise. But that’s its charm…feels like home, but with settings that are new to anime viewers, with an incredible environment (1900 London), a beautiful cast of characters and yes, drama, because we all love a big drama to worry about. This anime is proof that a good romance story, written by a woman mangaka goddess like Yōko Kamio ( Hana Yori Dango creator ) with good animation can be a success…so please animation studio/ streaming services, take note of this case and start animating also shoujo/ josei mangas with a decent quality. Public would be so happy about it.Are you Team Shin or Team Kit?I’m team Lili, obviously.Have you watched it? Let me know you think!#netflix #animerecommendation #romance #romanceanime by @collectingwithglow

Shonen vs. Shoujo: Why everyone gets it wrong?I see this mistake literally everywhere! Just because an anime is wholesome, emotional, or focuses on a crush doesn’t mean it’s Shoujo. Some series are confusing, I give you that, but the secret is always see in which magazine a manga series was published. There are characteristics to demographics, but lines are blurry with the past of the years so the only thing that matters is the magazine. So don’t get confused. Romance is a genre and can be written for shonen series as well as for shoujo series.Shoujo does not mean Romance just like Shonen does not mean Battle. So, lets hope this helps, because even in 2026 I still see people saying Horimiya is shoujo, because “it feels like shoujo”. Nope. There is internet, there is information, that’s not an excuse. To understand series demographics is important (but that will be the topic of another post). For now, that’s all. Hopefully this can be useful to you!Let me know if you have any questions or douts in the comments! ——————-SEO 2026 Anime TrendsAnime RecommendationsManga vs AnimeManga Demographics #AnimeAnalysis#AnimeCommunity#AnimeDemographics#ShoujoManga#romanceanime by @collectingwithglow

Is there any mangaka more transgressive and impactful than CLAMP?I know, it’s a provocative question, but it is a statement I believe in.So, Let’s talk about the incredible and prolific female manga collective that has made history and it’s really loved around the globe that is CLAMP! Four incredible women that have shaped manga history.Maybe I’m biased, but to me, they are revolutionary! They have published in magazines from different demographics (shoujo, shonen, seinen), and in each work they have innovated, mixed genres and bring to the world oneiric worlds that make us dream! As a millennial, their impact since the 90s is really important in our lives as manga and anime fans, that’s why I wanted to talk about them during this month, April. Maybe I should have done in an important date, like April 1st or CLAMP DAY, that is called this way because several of their main characters have their birthday this day, such as Sakura Kinomoto (CCS/Tsubasa), Syaoran Li (Tsubasa), and Kimihiro Watanuki (xxxHolic). But the post was not ready and as a big fan, I wanted to do it right to honor them as they deserve. It’s impossible to cover the full depth of their symbolism and legacy in a single IG carousel, but I’ve tried to highlight the key aspects of their career, their symbolism, their iconic art style and why they mean so much to me. I hope fellow CLAMP fans enjoy this post, and that it serves as a great introduction for those looking to discover their work! For me, it’s impossible to decide which CLAMP series is my favorite because I’m attached to so many. From Cardcaptor Sakura to Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHOLiC... I have been obsessed with every one of them!Have you read/ watched anything written by CLAMP?—————————————————————————————Sources:- CLAMP - The Legendary All-Female Manga Collective, Yokogao magazine- The legend of CLAMP, lisa Wu, Miteuru! Think modern shoujo is all about waiting 50 chapters for a hand-hold? Think again! These 5 ongoing hits prove that the best part of a romance isn’t the chase—it’s watching a couple actually navigate life side-by-side.For a long time, there was a running stereotype that all shoujo romance followed the exact same rule: an agonizingly long chase, endless miscommunications, and a confession that only happens in the very last volume. While the classic “will-they-won’t-they” slow burn will always have a special place in our hearts, modern shoujo has expanded the playing field. Authors today are giving readers so many new options—including stories where the main couple fast-tracks the confession to focus entirely on the dating phase! It’s not about which style is better or worse; it’s about having the freedom to choose your favorite romance vibe. The shoujo mangas discussed in this post:My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!)A Sign of Affection (Yubisaki to Renren)Love, That’s an Understatement (Hikaeme ni Ittemo, Kore wa Ai)Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t So Bad (Yamaguchi-kun wa Warukunai)Choking on Love (Museru Kurai no Ai wo Ageru)Shoujo is no longer bound by a single formula. Whether you want a 50-chapter buildup or an instant relationship, there is a modern manga out there catering perfectly to your taste.Where do you stand? Do you prefer the thrill of a long chase, or do you like watching the couple actually date early on?Let’s chat in the comments! 👇#shoujomanga #mangarecommendations #mangacommunity #otaku #romancemanga by @collectingwithglow

Rock Punk & Sweet Lolita.

Just because the title says ‘Romance’ doesn’t mean it’s Shoujo! The biggest misconception in the anime community? Thinking that ‘Romance = Shoujo.’ Marketing teams love putting words like Ren’ai (Romantic Love) right in the title, causing casual readers to mix up demographic targets completely. When you add words like “romance” or “romantic” directly into the title, the confusion triples. And if you add a Woman/ Girl protagonist, confusion gets over the level 9000!Today we are busting the biggest demographic myth in manga with 5 series that fooled everyone, because of their title/name:1. Kowloon Generic Romance (seinen)2. Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun (shounen)3. Kaguya-sama: Love is War (seinen)4. Romantic Killer (shounen)5. My Dress-Up Darling (seinen)Did you know that these series are not shoujo, even if the name leads you think that? Let me know in the comments what you think and if there are any other series that also suffer this misconception.Ps: Im not saying and better/worst because are not shoujo. In this account we love to use the right words/ concepts when describing the series, because naming things correctly its important. Representation is indeed important.#romanceanime #mangarecommendation #animecommunity #animeanalysis #animedemographics by @collectingwithglow

Mi ha fatto felicissima ✨ #MangaIta #ShoujoManga #MangaCommunity #MagicalGirl #CollezionismoManga by @collectingwithglow

Shoujo Anime Guide ☀️🍹🌊Summer 20262026 has been so good to shoujo/josei fans when it comes to anime! It is another packed season with so many shoujo / josei shows to watch during the week…and even having more than show in multiple days. I’m still crying we have a beautiful josei being animated (Jaadugar!).I’m so happy because also the quality of several shojo animes is higher than usual (“Victoria of Many Faces” and “Please Excuse My Younger Brothers”), and even if some series could have been better animated in general all products have a good quality .From isekai, to slice of life, from villainess to espionage intrigues, there is a great variety of shows this season for you to pick your choice.I’m watching several all of them, except the villainess theme animes (sorry I really can’t bother to start those, not my cup of tea) .Which one are you watching?Let me know!✨Anime list:Sayonara LaraI Want to Love You Till Your Dying DayThe Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her PowerSaved by the Ice Cold Prince’s EmbraceRed River (Anatolia Story)Victoria of Many FacesHana Kimi – Season 2My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t WickedPerfect AddictionPlease Excuse My Younger BrothersJaadugar: A Witch in MongoliaThe Ogre’s BrideThough I Am an Inept VillainessThe Duke’s Son Claims He Won’t Love Me Yet Showers Me with AdorationPS: This list focuses on these demographics/ target audience. Series that are not here probably have a different demographic (for example, “You and I are polar opposites” is shounen). Anyway, if I’m missing something on this list, let me know!!!PS 2: I’m watching all these, and obviously also animes from other demographics like “Daemons from the shadow world” and “Liar Game”😊 is a really packed season#Shoujoanime #shoujo #romance #animerecommendation #anime by @collectingwithglow

Mitsuki 🌼#anime #vampireknight #kanamekuran #zerokiryuu #yukikuran by @collectingwithglow

Think queer anime romance started with modern BL and Yuri? Think again. 🏳️‍🌈✨6 times Shoujo manga broke the rules and made queer history.Did you know that long before dedicated BL and Yuri magazines took off, mainstream shoujo and josei spaces were already leading a quiet revolution? 🌸✨From the cosmic, legendary devotion of Sailor Uranus and Neptune to groundbreaking trans representation in 1978, mangaka have always used these demographics to completely shatter traditional ideas of gender and romance. We’re diving into 6 incredible canon queer relationships featured in these spaces—including iconic magical girl series, messy adult realistic dramas, and even CLAMP’s famous, completely harmonious polyamorous triad! 👑🎸🛸Swipe through to see how these demographics paved the way for queer visibility in manga history.✨Claudine & Cecilia (Claudine... by Riyoko Ikeda | Margaret, 1978)✨Sailor Uranus (Haruka Tenoh) & Sailor Neptune (Michiru Kaioh) (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi | Nakayoshi, 1991)✨Mel Macias & Donny Moore (New York New York by Marimo Ragawa | Hana to Yume, 1995)✨Hikaru Shidou, Lantis, & Eagle Vision (Magic Knight Rayearth II by CLAMP | Nakayoshi, 1995)✨Touya Kinomoto & Yukito Tsukishiro (Cardcaptor Sakura by CLAMP | Nakayoshi, 1996)✨Utena Tenjou & Anthy Himemiya (Revolutionary Girl Utena by Chiho Saito/Be-Papas | Ciao, 1996) I really love these mangas and these couples and what they represent! Which is why I thought it was important to share today, last day of June, last day of pride month( but you know, we should talk about them all year long, don’t you agree?!). Which of these couples is your absolute favorite? Let’s chat in the comments!#MangaCommunity #Shoujo #QueerManga #ClassicManga #Pride2026 by @collectingwithglow
