One of the most ambitious yet well-accomplished undertakings of cinema, exalting the master-work of Tolstoy in a choreography unimaginable until realized. A true epic of a movie, wherein charmingly overdone personalities waltz and war, at times soberingly grave and at others drunken and childish. We watch from a uniquely empathetic camera that pulls us through intoxicating scenography, engorged with detail and sparing no expense to the point of gluttony and even horror. by @collection.ellis

Though I’m generally very partial to textile art, the work of Amparo de la Sota is especially touching to me. The technique is its own proof of patience and delicacy; the materials a celebration of the modest and the natural; the forms inherently peaceful and in some instances evocative of symbols, arriving to an almost allegorical posture. Above all, it’s art that stirs me to act more considerately and reverently with the objects, especially textiles, around me. by @collection.ellis

A hypnotically nightmarish spiral in a fantastical lower Manhattan. It’s an intelligently unthinkable plot-web filled with believably absurd characters, all set in what I personally feel is the best cinematic portrait of New York City, or at least what it used to be. by @collection.ellis
