Spicy take: some leftists are critiquing Mamdani for meeting with Trump because they could never get shit done with someone they don't like.

Thank you to everyone who co-created such a meaningful experience at the latest Solidarity Social for Palestine. Together we raised $657 for @gazamutualaidsolidarity . šŸ‡µšŸ‡øšŸ‡µšŸ‡ø

We also exchanged tears, stories, advice, resources and strategies. Many of us came away with new collaborators, and it is without question that the evening as a whole offered a huge boost of encouragement to keep moving for a liberated Palestine.

We hope you will stay connected to ask more big questions and build together. Stay tuned for future community conversations.

Thank you @unfetteredhowl for documenting the event, and thank you @verygoodcollective for your generosity of space.

With care, rigor, and deep gratitude,

We are with you and all Palestinians, both in the motherland and across the diaspora, in rage, grief, and utter insult that two years into Israel’s accelerated genocide of the Palestinian people, the global community has not acted accordingly. Two years in, and we are still deafened by the silence.

What will break the silence and inaction? How is each of us uniquely positioned to inspire the next person to raise their voice louder? How are we growing our edges while finding sources of encouragement to keep going?

Everyday we grapple with these questions - online, in private, a lot of times alone. Meanwhile, Gaza does not have the luxury of time for us to let these questions remain strictly existential.

The Solidarity Social for Palestine invites us to ask questions together in physical space, as a practice of co-regulation and co-generation, towards meaningful action. With other like-minds and hearts, we are gathering for the chance to exchange strategies, share resources, and take tangible action for Palestine.

Come as you are, wherever you are in your internal journey. Come to share an initiative or mutual aid org you’re supporting, to find your next collaborator, or to simply listen with an open heart.

Ticket link in bio. All proceeds from the event will go directly to @gazamutualaidsolidarity .

We’re excited to announce a second Solidarity Social for Palestine, hosted by How We Move and @verygoodcollective .

With this meeting, we aim to continue to hold space to ask questions together, learn from each other’s strategies and co-create opportunities for new connections and coalition-building. Join us in exchanging ideas on how we can use our resources and skills to grow, diversify, and sustain solidarity work for a free Palestine and an end to Israel’s occupation and apartheid. Only together can we deepen our commitment to action and stay engaged, inspired and accountable. All are welcome, and attendance to the prior event is not required!

We will start with a free-flowing social with snacks and beverages, followed by an open floor discussion for folks to share initiatives they’re involved in, as well as offer insights that have shaped their experiences in learning and unlearning in the struggle for collective liberation.

Proceeds from the event will support the important work of @gazamutualaidsolidarity .

Tips on staying discerning, safe and managing information overload during periods of high intensity action

1. Be discerning about any information you receive, unless it's from a trusted source. For example: there are a lot of reports of ICE raids (anticipated and in progress) coming through this week. Question those sources - ask for photos as proof - check with trusted people to confirm the reports are true.

2. React quickly but with intention. Everything feels urgent in moments like these and it's SO EASY to lose sight of our values and cause harm or put ourselves at risk. I would question people who are prioritizing urgency over safety and intention. If someone asks you to show up or do something you're not comfortable with, it's ok to sit with that and make your own choice. It's a red flag if someone doesn't tolerate asking questions or needing more information. They may not be able to give you all the information you need, but informed consent is extremely important. We need to be careful not to be overly reactive and to continue to prioritize where our efforts are most effective, otherwise we'll all get burned out.

3. Don't share any information about actions, protesters, on the ground strategies on the internet! Or with people you don't know! Example: there have been some jail support opportunities posted on Instagram - I would not recommend sharing names of folks you know who were arrested with a stranger or someone online. There are safe, secure and very serious processes for jail support - learn about them through trusted channels. Assume anything you share online or in public spaces can also be accessed by bad actors. by @collectivelyflawed

We’d like to share our intentions for how we’re cultivating this space, knowing it’s destined to find many shapes as it continues to grow. We envision How We Move as a flexible vessel that holds and honors the fullest spectrum of our intersecting struggles against empire.

Our call for a Free Palestine and the end of the occupation carries with it the forever urgency of Land Back. It calls for Justice & liberation for Black, Brown, & LGBTQ+ communities who continue to fight state-sanctioned violence and dehumanization. It calls for the protection of our neighbors whose safety and rootedness are threatened by racist policies of exile and expulsion, which are not unique to this current administration, but are part of a long legacy of the US’s logic of domination since the 18th century.

In the words of Lara Kiswani @Kiswaniya, ā€œa Free Palestine is the roadmap to global justice.ā€

And.

We are in fact infinitely greater than the sum of our struggles, and this project hopes to keep a steady spotlight on what truly keeps us connected, grounded, and affirmed - which is: our common love and regard for all life, both human and more-than-human.

Together, we are a process.
Together, we resist stagnation.
Together, we move towards liberation.

See you tomorrow.

What constitutes meaningful solidarity for Palestinian liberation?

How do we identify our specific role in support of Palestinian liberation, and how can we inspire one another to stay engaged and committed?

How does the reality and acknowledgement that ā€˜our struggles are interconnected’ show up in our daily actions, and how do these efforts scale from the local to global context?

Taking to heart the notion that each individual is the next person’s expander, this event offers free-flowing space to ask these questions together and co-create opportunities for new connections, conversations, and coalition-building. Join us in exchanging ideas on how we can use our resources and skills to grow, diversify, and sustain solidarity work for a free Palestine and an end to Israel’s occupation and apartheid.

Panel talk facilitated by Madeleine Schulz of @collectivelyflawed ; Speakers to be announced.

Masks encouraged. Common Objects is fully ADA accessible and a low scent environment. by @collectivelyflawed
