I have been struggling to comprehend that you’re really gone. My sweet Oscar boy.

7 years ago I adopted you as a senior pup from @muttvillesf when I was just 22 years old. You were terrified of humans and dogs, didn’t have hair on your back legs and booty, and had not known love in a very long time, if ever. Friends and family thought I was insane, which I was, but from the second I saw you I knew that you were meant to be my dog.

I’m so happy I got to give you the life you deserved and make up for lost time. We have seen and experienced the world together Scruffy and have been through so much together. You were the best part of my day and always knew how to cheer me up and make me laugh. You also were the most ridiculous dog I ever met, so much sass, side eyes, crazy noises, growls, howls, and expressive eyebrows.

Our home feels different without you Oscar. I miss being greeted by you at the door the second you heard the car lock, I miss you jumping on the dining room chair whenever we sat down for dinner, I miss the way you would kick Francisco out of his bed and steal his spot, I miss when you would curl in a ball on my lap, I miss how excited you got to go in your stroller or on walkies with your little bro, I miss how you would howl at every siren, I miss how you would square up with the biggest dogs in the neighborhood, I miss how you managed to take up an entire king bed and growl when Preston or I would roll over, I miss your old man snores, I miss how you would pretend your dog food didn’t taste good so that you could get the good stuff (eggs, bacon, salmon, cream cheese), I miss you being my little shadow and watching my every move, I miss the way we looked at each other, and I miss kissing your little triangle head.

Rest in peace my beautiful boy. I hope you are having the best time in doggy heaven and watching over me, Preston, and Franny. We miss you deeply and love you so much by @colleenhardystudio
