Bittersweet to make this post as it means the end of something that has given me so much. The first time I ever ran track was when I was in grade 4, we were required to as part of our gym class but right away it was evident I was a natural. As I continued through middle school it became apparent that I was above average at running in a straight line as I broke multiple school records and even a county record. I was then recruited by @laurelcreektfc who gave me the opportunity to compete at the national level twice. Through them I met @coachrayriley2 who gave me the confidence I needed to be the person I am today. By junior year of highschool I had the idea to start reaching out to schools in the US and by November of senior year I had decided to commit to South Dakota State University. Through my 2 years as a jackrabbit I was blessed to compete with some of my bestfriends and learn what it truly means to be a collegiate athlete. I then decided to transfer to Indiana State University where I got to experience what it felt like to be surrounded by a team who truly wants the best for each and every person on it. As my career was plagued by injuries I learned perseverance and true compassion and empathy for others. I am truly blessed to have been able to compete at this level and can walk away knowing I achieved little Collette’s dream of becoming a division I athlete. by @collette.wolfe
