Aquila will also be coming to Kindle Unlimited and print on release (plus one more special announcement). If you would like to be notified when I send out eARC information please comment "ARC" below and I will slip into your DMs with details when I have them (like November).

Much love to @colletteccurran who bought the cover to life and @damonzacom for the typography and layout!

BLURB:
At twenty-one, everyone manifests a symbiont: an invisible companion whose powers shape the course of a life.

Conrada has spent years pretending to be just another invisible serf, yet she can’t resist sabotaging the veneer with impulsive outbursts of her truest self. Her darkest secret only makes things worse: she alone can see everyone’s symbionts. Revealing her gift risks unwanted attention from those who can pay to control it. Best case, she disappears into an experimental program; worst case, she becomes a secret weapon for a private military contractor.

At manifestation, bidding wars erupt over her symbiont, and Conrada becomes the latest acquisition by Aquila Operations; a corporate black-ops consulting firm specializing in the impossible, the unique, and the dangerous. Then her symbiont starts whispering bloodlust and tragic memories in her ear. Images of falling leaves and turning seasons haunt her, and sometimes it’s not clear who is who. If Aquila decides her symbiont makes her a liability no longer worth the risk, it may become her executioner.

Welcome to Aquila. by @colletteccurran

Tibur

A short refrain
About Tibur the Vain
Whose beauty supreme did bless all —
He could not imagine
There were those who would halve him
For only to watch grandeur fall.

Recipe for Blight

I. Lead lover into a pine grove and cross three brooks north-to-south on a Thursday's dawn.

II. Ingest together the peel of one apple, cut by the paring knife held by a widow three years' deceased.

III. Let lover rest on a bed of clover. At highest noon, invoke a bovine transfiguration (refer to Fellow's Fauna and Folk: Transmutation During Daylyght (sic).

IV. Lead lover home and fast it until Saturday.

V. Take lover to market. Trade flesh of the body to any butcher in return of the head intact, save a vertical incision on the brow no longer than a finger's length.

VI. Return home and let the head rest under the shade of an elm native to the colonies. Let no sun touch it for twelve hours. Should the wound begin to fester in ochre and green tones, then it has drawn with success. Bury the head one meter deep in the location of your choice. Effects may be noted in a six acre radius.
