Thank You Brooklyn.

Silkscreen on handmade recycled paper.

We are quick to buy and even more eager to throw away. This print is an homage to the practice of circular economies and a love letter to Brooklyn’s litterbugs. Through the collection of garbage in our community, into a bath of water, through a screen, the life of garbage is extended. Think about what happens to trash that you discard and the collective effort of sanitation workers it takes to remove it. The first step to tackling our defensive waste economy is confronting it. Thank you to the incredible people and institutions that aided the manifestation of this project.

Did you know it is your responsibility to pick up the sidewalk in NYC?

Process informing production.

My first attempt at chine-collé was a failure. I created tangible fabrics on paper through monotyping, emulating the wool of a cap. So yeah, it felt like shit when 30+ hours of work tore up under the press, but isn’t that a testament to the grief this work stands for? I’m grateful for the labor intensive process of printmaking serving as a distraction and outlet, even when it fails. by @collow33n
