"I've seen some impressive things as an ARC trooper in the GAR. I've seen Venator Star Destroyers take on CIS armadas single-handedly. I've seen never-ending legions of battle droids. I've even seen Master Yoda a few times. But I think the greatest thing I ever saw was LAAT/i dropships flying out of a sunset, engines roaring, loaded with reinforcements, ammunition, medical droids, and food."

When I went camping as a kid with my grandparents, I would always play The Clone Wars. I would pretend I was an ARC trooper and my troops and I were pinned down on a mountainside by the CIS, awaiting reinforcements.

This is how I imagined those LAATs: flying low under the mountains to avoid being detected by CIS air patrols and AA guns, with a sunset at their backs.

"Thunder and rain. That's all you hear on Kamino; it never stops. The thunder is completely silenced by the soundproofing of Tipoca City's structures, but the lightning is an irregular pulse in your eyes. And when you're outside, you get it all. I have dealt with it for so many years that it has become normal. Whether I'm walking through the corridors of Tipoca City and see the rain and lightning through the windows, or training outside on the platforms of the stilt city, thunder and rain are all I hear; they echo in my mind. That's all any clone has heard for the last ten years. Especially me. I've had to train in the thunder and rain for hours every day since I was big enough to carry a blaster. That didn't take long for me or any other clone. We clones age at an accelerated rate, twice that of a normal human. We were born and raised to be the perfect soldiers, soldiers who would go on to serve the Republic—a Republic we'd never even seen or heard of. But those were the orders. Orders given to me directly by the clone template himself, Jango Fett."

Saw a post on X that mentioned Kamino, and I thought to myself how I'd like to see myself on Kamino, just standing in the rain. It's a simple Photoshop edit, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

It makes me happy to see that, 18 years later, the Phase III armor of Triton Squad, 501st Legion, remains one of the most recognizable and iconic trooper designs of all time.

Introducing my Custom Hot Toys Colonel Stan!

What a commission! Many of you may already know @colonel_stan, and he reached out to have his iconic character brought to life in 1/6 scale. The goal was to use as many OEM parts as possible with minimal 3D printing. Most of the Bly-style pouches had to be printed, but the ARC Trooper gear is from Hot Toys, the pauldron is an older custom piece (very cool, the middle portion of the pauldron is a soft rubber and the armored sides are solid plastic and can be swapped around), and the Phase I helmet is the @sideshow version, which is way more accurate than Hot Toys’ P1.

I worked closely with Stan and used plenty of reference material provided to recreate his design as faithfully as possible. The chest draws from the 212th Attack Battalion, the shin armor from Echo, the foot markings from Commander Bly, and the helmet incorporates the UNSC Eagle, Globe, and Banner—a detail I especially love as a huge Halo fan myself. His blaster is a customized Steyr AUG with F-11D-inspired details (Barrel and Power Pack) that I pulled off of one from Hot Toys to give it a more Star Wars feel. The Beskar gauntlets included are both ARC Trooper and Death Watch variants, that Jango gifted Stan. I made the ROTS-style kama from scratch, which was a feat in itself. The head sculpt is a Hot Toys Captain Rex that I sculpted hair onto and painted. The weathering is matched to ROTS Clone renders. I even hid a small Easter Egg under the rangefinder that’s not clearly visible; I painted viewport green as a homage to Alpha-17. Just a cool little detail that I personally love.

This was only my second original character commission, so getting every detail right was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I’m really proud of how he turned out, and I’m honored I could bring such a badass character to life.

Hey all!

After a slightly longer than intended stint away, I’m back with another commission post; this time by the one and only @colonel_stan!
You’ve probably seen this design around before, as Stan has been made in different mediums by many creators and artists, so I’m glad to be able to include myself in that list.

This was a fair challenge to make because there are many design intricacies (particularly on the helmet) that Stan and I worked hard to get correct. I also used some new techniques to create new or altered textures that differ from my usual; including Beskar ARC Gauntlets!

I hope you like him, because there’s more where this came from 👀

As a kid, I grew up camping in the mountains of the Rockies and made a lot of great memories there. I'd pretend to be an ARC trooper leading troopers fighting an uphill battle while being pinned down on a mountainside by Separatist forces.

Today, I want to share the vision that I want to bring to life. Planet Zegon is a planet I created for my story and will be a major location within the journal's narrative.

Yes, these images are AI-generated, created to match the landscape I've had in my mind for years. I wanted to see what the planet would look and feel like. I saw Zegon in my mind, but I wanted to see what it really looked and felt like. Zegon is defined by its snow-capped, pine-draped peaks, fast-running river systems, and crystalline glacial lakes.

The two images are AI-generated. I wanted to show the landscape of this planet that I've held in my mind for many years. I also wanted to capture the GAR presence on Zegon—that specific cool, morning, overcast feeling—the atmosphere of a trooper's daily routine in the field on this planet, drawing directly from my own experiences in the Army.

When I was a kid growing up with my grandparents, there was no place in the world that made me happier than camping in those mountains, so I wanted my planet to resemble the place that made me most happy in the world. And now I get to take that place and tell a story. I have so many plans and ideas for this planet, and I can't wait to share them with my followers.
